Credit ratings are also dodgy. What is it with Moody’s that makes them drop our credit rating at the drop of a hat ? Almost no one follows suit so stuff em ?

Yep. If you wanted to be a prat you could !

Some people need protecting from themselves though so I fully support the restrictions put on high price lenders that saw Wonga go bust.

          Governments should know better though.

I notice that inspector by Gibson Research says there is a microcode patch for my i7 930  CPU that mitigates  slowdowns the Windows specter defence causes. Not out yet though.

It had better be less than 12 months time. March the 30th is one day before my birthday and I am expecting a firm decision before then as a present ?

I feel for you Bob. Long term pain will make the best of us ratty. On the subject of the spinal pain thing, a few years ago I fractured L2 and L3 in my spine and the first I knew of it was a huge pain in my left knee ! Fortunately it healed its self

Just to make my position clear I am of the Mrs Thatcher shop keepers daughters school of economics, live within your means, get value for money and control inflation via interest rates.

Four years reading economics so you posted it 4 times then Duke ?

I have not formally studied economics but it is one of my interests. Most of it is based on some seriously dodgy assumptions such as nation states cannot go bust so they can move their dept around forever. On top of that, if economics could predict the future we would have some seriously rich economists instead of a load of sad cases spouting from the LSE.

I dispute every one of your points Ed except that there will be some disruption immediately after leaving. The thing is though we haven’t left yet and none of the potential benefits can be realised until we do.

We have all the money Duke. The only cards the EU have are jokers and they have played most of them already. Sorry if your holiday gets disrupted this year.

I only saw ONE good reason to be in the EU and that was free trade. The restrictions and quotas they place on that already make it a dubious honour. We may end up paying for a trade agreement after Brexit (I don’t see why we should) but we already pay vast sums now. My main reason for voting leave is to disentangle us from the EU institutions and their self interested rules. I DO believe that ounce out politicians regain responsibility we will lose a lot of those who see it as a cushy number and maybe gain some who are in it to make a difference.

The problem with extension cables is that a lot of them are poor quality.  Some don’t even use twisted pairs which is a big no no for broad band.

I don’t know why but sometimes performing a factory reset by pressing the button with a pin cures this sort of behaviour. You will have to re-enter you settings afterwards but that may be part of the cure ?

                                https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Parliament

                                And finally the European Parliament.

Now tell me that our national government has any real power left while serving under that lot. They would be lucky to sign off a new box of paper clips on their own.

An Epoxy glue like Araldite should work well and it is extremely heat resistant. Just make sure the surface is grease free and that you get the standard Araldite, not the rapid.

Berxit in its self is basically just an enabler Duke, its what we do with it when/if we get it that will count. In the meantime though we will not have to keep paying to be told what to do and there will be no new BS EU directives to implement.
