An upgrade to an SSD is the biggest speed increase you can get but upgrading from your 2GB of ram is well worth it too. 4GB will max out all your 32 bit apps if you run them one at a time. Interestingly 6GB is another sweet spot because many 64 bit apps that claim to need 8GB only actually need a bit more than 4. You do need to make sure you have the same amount of memory in all banks though so 8GB may actually be cheaper.

This isn’t brexit related and I am sorry but I can’t resist.

Some of Corbyn’s supporters are calling for a boycot of the Guardian ! Apparently if you can’t agree with 100% of what the Labour party gets up to then you cant say anything at all.

Im surprised its taken this long. Without secure boot its relatively easy to write a replacement UEFI module and have it placed in your System partition. Rewriting your systems firmware is trick though.

Good to know just in case but it looks like this feature is only being rolled out on drives that are intended to go in SAS enclosures at the moment.

Oh I don’t know Ed. Maybe in the future the EU leaders will stop acting like a bunch of dictators and transform the EU into a fantasticly successful democratic institution. You never know.

Technically the vote we just had was a repeat of the 1975 referendum Alan. It was 40 odd years before anyone asked if we were still happy with the result. It turns out we were not and I think we should be asked again in another 40 years in case we change our minds again.

I was thinking that the Windows auto detect routines for the sound card ports may be involved so if you connect that way I will look into it ?

Im taking it that you are setting your monitor speakers as an OUTPUT device but are they connected to your sound card output or are they using sound over HDMI via your video card ?

How did you set up the keyboard shortcut by the way ?

An election is not going to happen as there is no excuse for it. Mrs May was personally elected for a fixed 5 year term this time.

However if there was an election and Labour won I would refuse to accept the result as I would not agree with it and a simple majority is not good enough for me. I would bang my fists and stamp my little feet.

What was important was for Boris and Nigel to be there. Two public figures standing up and saying they wanted out. For many years those of us with the same idea had been told we were a tiny minority with a twisted view. Suddenly we were not alone and we declared our displeasure in the biggest vote in British history.

Well they didn’t argue for the other side Ed. The amount of misinformation comming from the remain camp was already deafening. Infact I doubt Boris and co made much difference because unless you were already going to vote out you wouldn’t have heard them over the din.

No Ted was just week. He had no chance of keeping a lid on the Marxist forces that dam near achieved their aim of a peoples republic of Great Britain. We have indeed  finished paying for WWII and it took decades. Now is the time to manage our own money, not give it to an institution that may, if we ask nicely, let us have some of it back.

Oh come on Dave. In the 1970’s we were the sick man of Europe because we were still paying the Americans for WWII and the Marxists were busy trying to make the country ungovernable so they could step in with a peoples solution. Joining an EEC wasn’t a bad idea then. We have long since pulled ourselves out of that mess and an EU never was right for us so its time to say good bye.

Yes Ed. As the EU says. We should be given a chance to make the correct choice. Just like Ireland and Denmark.

I fear we are to stupid to get it right in a second vote though so we will probably need a third and a fourth and a fith.

Fortunately we will soon be able to forget the whole lot and just deal with the foreign and trade departments.
