That reminds me Ed. I used to maintain the phone system at the BFI and one day I nearly got soaked entering the building. Bells started ringing and then water just gushed from the roof of the building.

Once inside I asked what was going on and they said the water deluge system was being tested. They stored the old celluloid films in a specially built concrete room on the roof.

As you can’t extinguish celluloid fires the idea of the deluge system was to fill the whole room with water within 5 seconds and to keep it full for up to 2 hours. The hope was that with the temprature kept down only the stuff that was already burning would keep burning and burn its self out.

To make the best black powder you have to “crack” it. Grind your ingredients separately and add to your mortar and pestle. Add a little water and grind into a fine paste. Let the paste dry into a lump and then grind that into your final powder.

Im sure most people on here know that but is that a siren I hear ?

To be honest I wouldn’t even connect an XP machine to my home network anymore. As a stand alone bit of fun though I still had one until last year, running a P3 1Ghz  “Copper mine” and an FX5600 Graphics card.

I am glad we have a bit of debate around here though. Perhaps we can declair  FORUMTE reason central?

A very well made point D-Dan, untill you got to the last bit ?

We must escape before we negotiate. Why bother talking to your jailers ?

In case you were wondering why it makes so little difference now, then its because modern CPU’s have 3 levels of full speed cache memory. The CPU only has to wait for main memory in the event of the data not being in the chache, and its less than 1% of the time these days.

Dont worry but just in case..

                              Your memory speed is:

System base clock x memory multiplier x 2 because its Double Data Rate.

If you do the maths then it looks your base clock is 83.7 so if you changed the multiplier to x10 your memory would be running at 1674. Thats higher than your memory’s rated 1600 a could be why AUTO chose an 8x multiplier.

If you want to try x10 then you probably need to change your multiplier setting to EXPERT first and you may need to disable XMP too.

                              But as Dave said…

The EU were going to scrap our rebate anyway to bring us closer into line with the STANDARD terms of membership. In 5 or 10 years time there is unlikely to be ANY country on special terms.

On the other hand if it goes as well as I expect it to then the debate will just melt away. Point settled again.

If we never leave we will never know and this divide will rumble on for decades, maybe more.

Has anyone considered that if we just leave with no deal and it proves to be a mistake after say 5 years (You have to give it a decent go) then its not the end of the world.  The EU would ALWAYS welcome us back under the standard EU terms and the Remainers would get to say we told you so. Point settled.

I agree with you about our current crop of polititians though. Most of them wouldn’t recognise a principle if the head principle came over to give them a lesson on principles ?.

Nooo. Its just an example of the MASSIVE porkies the EU tells before it does what really wanted in the first place.

I can see why VFM keeps mentioning a European army Dave. It is a shining example of something the EU would Never, not ever, even in your dreams, think about proposing. And now has.
