Almost nothing ever bites me, if anything ever does it never stays for a meal. Something about me is unattractive, and I don’t just mean my looks ?
Just how old is this Lenovo ?
Boot from USB started to show up in the PC BIOS in 2003 and by 2004 they all had it.
I expect you already know that you need to enable legacy keyboard support for a USB keyboard to work with a legacy OS. Its the OS thats legacy in that setting, not the keyboard ?

The above link is about as clear as it gets ?
Too big to Bluetooth ? I wonder where the limitation lies.
As a test I just Bluetoothed the Disney film Frozen from my Windows 10 PC to my Galaxy S7 as a 1.4G MP4 file.
It took 45min but no problem.
A bit of a tangent here, sorry. But as the question seems answered….
I got a free copy of MS Word 2000 with a PC I brought in 1999. In 2000 my company sent me on a 2 day training course to learn how to use MS Office 2000 but I was only really interested in Word. Later in 2000 I brought a book called the experts guide to Word 2000 and I still have it. I have used Word 2000 ever since and in short I know how it works !
You may be surprised to know that it still works just fine on W10. I did a reinstall last month from my original disk after I had done a clean install of W10.
I had to do a search for SP3 because Microsoft no longer supplies it but after that I downloaded the compatibility pack from MS so I can even open docx files. Windows update even downloaded some patches and security fixes too.
So long live Word 2000 because I am in no hurry to learn anything newer ?
On a side note, if you ever buy sweet and sour ready meals from Tesco then they come in a proper Tupperware container for free.
Scrunch up some newspaper and use some tape and you have an almost indestructible container for sending back things like mobile phones ?

Gumtree has a load of them.
There are so many but :
Griffin and George
The people who seemed to make all the lab equipment at my school.
I was thinking that sometime in the future, if the price drops enough, I might buy an NVMe to PCIe adapter card so I could have a really high speed data drive.
The hybrid UEFI BIOS on my MoBo is just to old to load the NVMe module that would make it bootable.
However I was just doing some reading up and it appears that the Samsung evo drives have an old style option ROM that lets them appear to a BIOS as a bootable SCSI device.
That keeps the BIOS happy but when the Windows installer queries the drive it reports its true nature and Windows installs the NVMe drivers.
There are a few videos online with this working with my exact motherboard. All at full speed too after the initial boot.
When I finally replaced my 8 year old Pentium 3 the latest Core 2’s were scoring more than 12 times faster in benchmarks and I had no hope of playing the latest games.
At the moment I play the latest Vulkan version of Doom with all the settings maxed out. If I enable show stats I see 60fps ( thats the max because I have Vsync enabled) and a CPU usage of 16%.
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-930-vs-Intel-Core-i7-7700K/m79vs3647
The above is quite interesting. It actually under scores my i7 930 because mine runs at 3.9 Ghz base turboing to 4.1 Ghz with the memory at 1440 and has done since the day I got it in 2010.
Even so the new CPU fails to double the score of the one they tested in any benchmark.
And look at today’s prices !
I gave up on syncing photos when Picassa was discontinued. All my photos are stored on my data drive in a folder called Fotos and backed up manually to a USB drive. I can only access my pictures from devices on my network but at least they stay put and in the order I put them.
Yes they do JCD and along with the safety deposit centre that got robbed a few years ago they also represent doddgy money ?
Cash machines are another thing. Counting convenience stores but not counting in branch machines there are 30 or more within a 10min walk of each other.
<hr />
It would seem that Wembley High Rd is the bank capital of North West London. Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Natwest, Santander, HBOS, Nationwide, RBS, Bank of Ireland and a few more. Bank of Yemen or Bank of Baroda anyone ?
As I have said before, many MPs STILL don’t get it. They are elected to run the country on behalf of the people unless they actually ASK the people, then they must carry out the WILL of the people.
I predict a continued big mess. Even with BoJo in charge I think the Turkey’s WILL vote for execution by continuing to block a hard Brexit.
We will end up with a GE that will see many Brexit party MPs in the house but maybe Labour in control.
They don’t know what they wan’t but they do know a second referendum would likely return the same result, and then they would have to honour it, so that wont happen.
We will just stumble on until the EU throws us out, and they will because the Brexit party is going to be using its new EU parliament seats to make as much trouble for them as possible.
Must be my lucky day.
I ordered a Crucial MX300 512MB SSD on ebay last week for £43.
I wanted a MX300 because it has a Marvel controller an I know my motherboard likes them.
I had an email on thursday from the seller saying that the MX300 was out of stock so they were sending me an MX500 instead. Not really what I wanted because it has a different controller but ho hum.
This morning I got my package and inside was a note saying the MX500 512GB was out of stock so they had sent me an MX 300 1TB instead !
Paying the credit card is another thing my phone is used for. As my card is with my bank its just a couple of clicks in their online banking app. Paying a card from another bank would only be a matter of setting them up as a payee first.
I still get a paper statement though so I am reminded to pay. Somehow an email asking for payment isn’t the same as a demand by post ?
Wish i’d had a bet on Boris 2 years ago. The odds would have been er “”favourable” ?
