            A funny thing.

I have been playing with a few overclocking settings an it seems that my RX 480 is holding back my PC mark 10 score. Upping my CPU base clock makes almost no difference but upping the GPU clock by a couple of notches gains me 150 points ?

Ever since Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 all versions of Windows have had exactly the same code base. Even upgrading from Home to Enterprise server only involves changing a few registry entries. The first time an upgraded system is booted there is a tiny amount of reconfiguration to be done but it should take seconds.

The only exception to the above is if you had installed a MinWin version of windows such as Windows Core Server because it only installs whats needed to load and manage Hyper V virtual machines.

Above is a link to the Wiki about USB On The Go. OTG specs may have nothing to do with your problem but the article contains some interesting info on the latest USB cables and devices.

I didn’t read the original post and link properly. It does say that this works by exploiting a bug in existing drivers that are already signed.

If you happen to be a hobbyist trying to write a driver then that would be a pain but Visual Studio offers an option to turn off driver signing for one boot only and if you really want you can add an entry to the BCD that makes it permanent. You will not be able to play any protected media like that though ?

Hmm. Not sure how this malware could work. To take that sort of control over a system you must instal a kernel mode driver because that is the only way that user mode code can gain access to kernel mode. Nothing much to do with permissions but you will also need admin rights to instal a kernel mode driver.

64 bit Windows is REALLY picky about what drivers it will allow and they must be signed at the very least.

Just one thing. If you try to add a new thread to an existing topic on an Android mobile, the box to put the subject in has gone ?

Got to the bottom of the problem. I did a buy now from my longstanding ebay account but somehow that translated into an auction win on there and a buy now on a totally new account. The payment went through on this new account but a second payment from my real account was blocked by my bank.

The seller sent me details of what ebay had sent him as ebay would not.

Anyway the part arrived today and it works so I am happy and the seller is happy. ebay and paypal can sort anything else out between themselves ?

The funny thing is that if I manage to click past the non payment and dispute messages on ebay and look at my order then it says Paid and has a tracking number with a delivery date of the 9th of September. It has been saying that for 6 days now though.

I contacted the seller via ebay but they still say they have received no money so I have raised a dispute with PayPal. See if that gets their attention ?

My mum had an interesting ant nest setup a few years ago. Ordinary garden black ants with one nest under the concrete shed base in the back garden and another near the driveway gates at the front.

For the year or so that they were there they had a continuous train between the two, marching up the drive by the side of the house for a distance of about 40 feet.

Facinating to watch and they never tried to enter the house but by the next year both nests had just gone.

Did you know that power computing are still in business and you can find them at powerc.com ? They don’t seem to do Amiga stuff these days though.

I had a power colour hand held scanner for my Atari ST and it plugged into the serial port. I think what you have there is a faster interface card for the Amiga.
