I love G plan 😀 have a look at the above Wiki link.
I don’t know but Microsoft really do want everyone on W10.
Oh yes, that will transfer the licence to the new hardware and invalidate the old 😆
Well thats the thing. MS will have had the hardware registered under W8. So far they are still letting people who had 7 or 8 machines upgrade to W10.
If you build a new machine and have a windows retail licence you will still need to call MS 🙄
It is only when you try to transfer your retail licence to a new machine that you have to ring MS 😁
That will work. Since the W10 creators update it accepts W7 retail keys
A no. I have expressed my views on the unelected evil EU empire before 😂
What I really don’t get Bob is that there were people in Ireland who battled long and hard to separate themselves from UK rule but then signed up to the EU empire. Honestly I don’t get it.
If the computer is a late XP equipped model then it is possible that it has a native 4k sector drive doing 512B emulation (512e). That is bad enough but XP will not automatically align partitions on a 4K boundary which makes things twice as bad. W7 is 4K sector aware but if it was installed as an upgrade to XP it will keep the existing disk partition structure. A fresh install of W10 will fix that and if you can set the disk controller to AHCI mode in the BIOS it will run the disk in native 4K mode.
Of course once you have done all that you are set to install an SSD which would increase speed dramatically 😁
Fair enough Bob, I had finished venting my spleen (not that I have one anymore) on this matter in any case 😀
Hmm. The link I wanted to post will not paste from the clipboard for some reason so above is a less detailed link, sorry 🤨
W10 is fully UEFI aware and that is in fact is prefered set up. If you install W10 on a system with CSM enabled and an unformatted hard disc of less than 2TB you will effectively get a BIOS set up with an MBR formatted disk. The link from Intel below gives some hints as to why you may have problems installing W10 in full UEFI/GPT mode.
If I thought we were actually facing some sort of disaster then I may be protesting too but I still wouldn’t be pitching my tent in the middle of a central london street. It is all just selfish me me me. Some of their children are having genuine nightmares because of the rubbish they have been fed, they think they will roast to death before they reach 20, but the nutters don’t care if they can stick them in front of a camera sobbing.
<p style=”text-align: justify;”>Nope, just nut jobs and as usual they have dragged their children along with them. Do you REALLY think that your grand children are going to grow up in a toxic wasteland Bob ? because thats what they have convinced their children is going to happen.</p>
The ER group are a bunch of nut jobs. They have an idea in their heads that can’t be shifted with facts because it didn’t get there that way. One of them was on the radio this morning complaining that he now had a criminal record for obstructing the public highway. Asked if he realised it was against the law he replied no but yes but no but. Ask them to move nicely once then lock up the lot of them. Who the hell do they think they are.

The above link to the 3G partnership project sets out where we are now with mobile networks. In short though, Long Term Evolution did not initially meet the requirements the 3GPP set out for a 4G network but with LTE Advanced they relented and let LTE A operators call their networks 4G. For 5G we have LTE A Pro with New Radio (NR) and the 3GPP is on side with that. 2G GSM networks have started to shut down, AT&T shut their US service in 2017.
File manager can read and copy all the files on a UHD disk and some people have reported that they can decode some copied files using AnyDVD but not more recent ones.
If you buy a UHD Bluray drive you will have the same problem as me, no SGX support. Power DVD will play 4K video files just fine but it will not decode a UHD Bluray without SGX 🤨
The DRM thing gets worse. Power DVD will not play my Terminator 2 UHD disc, says SGX driver is not loaded and would I like to load it, if I say yes it says my hardware doesn’t support SGX, no surprise there
The UHD disc also came with a regular BluRay but it was region 1. No problem I will just connect my old BluRay drive and switch region. Oh no I wont, says I need to insert a region 1 DVD before it will change, a BluRay is not good enough !
Well I did read your link Ed, as I mostly do, and it was from the Guardian, as they often are, never the less it is true. If it was possible in law we would now be living in the peoples republic of Great Brittan 🙄
