And speaking of nil by mouth, I will be on restricted fluids only again from 9 pm tonight. I am scheduled for an angiagram  at 12 tomorrow but I cant see why what I eat should matter to that.

I have posted the above link because I am not sure your problem is to do with the computer you are using to display the 4K screen. It shouldn’t take that much processing power to just display an uncompressed 4K video stream.

Microsoft exec’s were quoted at the time of release as saying that they wanted to make sure that the next release of Windows that they were working on was not mistaken for a rehash of W8 so they were going to call it W10. As far as I know that is exactly what happened so W10 is W9, just called W10 😁

I suggest they let me rewrite their control software in Atari basic. I am still having trouble with the bugs in my Sudoku solver program but at least I can see them !

If you would like to check if your router has left any ports open then Shields Up ! By Gibson Research is good idea, its free and you may like to look at some of the other stuff on the site like InSpector.

When PC’s were first connected to broadband via a USB modem it was vitally important to have a firewall program installed to block incoming connection attempts. We now all sit behind a NAT router that will just ignore almost all unsolicited connection attempts. A firewall program can still stop any malware you may get from calling home by blocking outgoing requests and the W10 firewall is quite good at that.

<p style=”text-align: justify;”>Maybe a little while ago Bob, there were a few teething troubles at the start but there is now no reason to stick with W7. There are even a few useful universal apps in the Windows store now 😁</p>

There is a debate about 16 vs 24 bit sound and Direct Stream Digital in there too.

Please do disconnect the spinner before doing the upgrade. It should not happen but if the spinner ever had Windows on it then the Windows installer may decide to repair and use that system partition while installing the Windows partition on the SSD. All will seem fine until you unplug the spinner and find the system will not boot !

The W7 retail key will work on ONE PC at a time for evermore according to MS, that has been so since the fall update.

                                  +1 to Dave

Standby power is supplied to all USB devices so that bus powered devices like mice can issue wake up events. Two of the ports on my system also support power off charging so they get full power all the time.

Maybe the Unions will have to distance themselves completely and set up a NEW new Labour party 😁

You can short the switch pins if you like but remember its a monetary contact switch. If you keep the pins shorted you are telling the PC to switch off again 😁
