I think Lead Zeppelin should go under L because the whole thing is their name. Its not first name Lead, sir name Zeppelin 😀

I well remember Slade as a child and I was waiting for their next big hit. I saw an interview where they said they were off to America for a few months to promote their old stuff but they would be back with some new stuff soon. Never heard from them again, except at Christmas of course.

I was actually closer to death than I thought I was. When they dislodged a clot during the initial attempted angioplasty I went into cardiac shock and they put out a crash call. The big pads they stuck on me were for quick atatchment of a defibrilator but it never came to that. They nearly called a helecoptor to take me to harefield hospital but the adrenalin and heprin began to work after 30 min so they thought it was better not to move me.

All this stuff and more is in my release notes, they never told me at the time.

There is another benefit to stored hydro power because it uses spinning generators so it can be used to help regulate the frequency of the grid. You can also use DC motors to do the pumping so you can take power from solar and wind sources directly.

Oh I don’t know Ed, pumped hydro storage needed another mention 😁

In the days when we needed to burn fuel to pump water back up it made limited sense, but now we have periods when wind turbines are producing excess power it makes perfect sense to use that.

You really don’t NEED a river but you will need a way to initially fill your lakes and keep them topped up, rain water run off should do it. Your high lake and low lake don’t even need to be especially close as you can pipe water between them.

On top of the electricity storage benefits you will also be creating new rain water catchment reservoirs so the water companies may like to chip in with the cost.

Unless of course the ports on the router are all only 100 Mbs 😁

Well you know best for your network D Dan but I was thinking more that if you still have stuff connected to your router (including wireless devices) then you should probably have a fast link between it and your new switch.

Isn’t hydroelectric still the best form of stored energy ? A river is a plus but you only need a high lake and a low lake. Release water from the top lake to generate electricity when you need it and then pump it back up again when eco energy is plentiful.

Yep there are 2×1000 baseT uplink connectors and they are auto MDIX like the other ports so you can use them as you please, with or without crossover cables. You are probably going to want to use one of those ports to connect to your router though

This morning they left me with a sachet of magnesium instead of dissolving it for me so I can tell you it is Magnaspartate (magnesium aspartate dihydrate). Any good ?

Thank you all for your good wishes, they may have worked.

I finally got to see the top man for the first time today and his assessment was much better than I had hoped for.

It seems that the clot busting drugs that I have been taking at a low dose have worked quite well anyway. There is no longer any question of a bypass being required at this stage. The results of my endcardiogram showed inflamation and a small fissure in my stomach lining but no bleeding at the moment.

I am going to be discharged in the next couple of days with a higher dose of blood thinning and anti clotting drugs along with the mag supplement and another electrolyte booster. They want me back in 8 weeks to do a stress test on my heart and if I pass that then they will not even be considering stents.

The top man joked that he might like to fit a stent so that the blood flow in my arteries would look prettier in the pictures !

There is no detectable damage to  my heart muscle but my blood pressure is still only 92 over 59 but thats much better than it was 😀

I am in Northwick Park Hospital, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country and a university trust. Also famous for some of the biggest cockups in recent medical history.

Hmm, sore point getting any info out of a medic around here.

Even with my bestest, non threatening, you know best oh mighty one attitude, any request for a explanation is treated as an insult to their medical judgement.

And there was a lot of blood. I had already been as sick as I thought I could be before the bleeding but then I filled 3 more small bowls with blood. About 1.5L as an estimate.

My pulse rate was about 150 at rest when they did my first angiogram and it stayed there but during the 2 hours they spent trying to fit a stent my blood pressure droped, they said it was because my heart just wasnt contracting hard enough. I only came off preasure boosting drugs 3 days ago and my blood preasure is still only just up to safe levels.

I don’t know what artery they were working on because I just trusted them but, you know, im beginning to have my doubts.

I did indeed have a small magnesium deficiency and they have put me on a supplement for that amongst other things.

Had the promised second angiogram today but im not much the wiser. The results are to be discussed at the big weekly cardiology meeting tomorrow so I should know more by the evening.

In the meantime cardiology want me to have an endoscopy to make sure that I no longer have any internal bleeding, they want the option of giving me stronger blood thinning drugs, but the gastric people want a guarantee that I won’t die on their table first 🙄   Last I heard they were still arguing about it.

The graphics have moved on a bit. The procedure I had last week was displayed on a 60 inch UHD OLED screen. The video is mostly taken at 12 FPS but they switch up to 22 FPS for recordings, you can hear the ticking as frames are shot.

Another improvement is with chest x rays. You no longer have to wait for a porter to wheel you to the machine, it comes to you. Looks like a large sit on mower but then the top unfolds like a cartoon transformer and it becomes a remote controlled x ray machine. Stand well clear everybody please !
