In a terminal use SHIFT Ctl V to paste and SHIFT Ctl C to copy.

Random email TBird under Ubuntu, copy &paste of multiple lines to Libre Office worked without issue.

One quirk I have noticed is that Linux sometimes clears the copy cache if you have closed the originating document. The latter does not seem consistent but I have never investigated the parameters.

Graham it is a user level privilege escalation to kernel level (where drivers operate) via previously unknown bugs in some 40+ Microsoft signed drivers. The list of companies with badly written drivers is on the original link but includes obscure companies such as Intel, Realtek and nVidia!.

The malware need only get access to user level e.g. one of the common browser exploits.

I would assume that anyone reading this thread keeps their updates current. Good for you as it looks like the sky is falling. According to this link not only should you update Windows but also all your software and drivers as well!

Good time to go, with luck you may even catch one of their two days of summer!

It depends what you like, Scotland has everything from the cultural heights of Glasgow and Edinburgh to deep fried Mars Bars. The Malt Whisky centres in the Highlands are pretty good too. It is also very scenic, especially the west coast – Skye is well worth a visit but you really do not have the time.

(Every time I visited Aberdeen I froze my butt – even in June!)

Most I saw was 28 but as I was working in the sun without shade it felt quite toasty.

Les, are you saying that Sky (for example) actually duplicates its satellite signal on the UHF transmitters? I found that very difficult to believe as it must have a cost.

As an ex marine don’t you have a similar reaction if someone slags your Regiment, and leap to their defence?

I know that my father would get very annoyed about any negative comments wrt his Infantry Regiment, and he was gutted when it disbanded/was absorbed.

Steve, I think you may have lost perspective on this particular matter. It sounds as though the incident really got to you, but I do not think that a good reason to slag-off DwynneHugh, who was only trying to say that there are two sides to every story.

‘Snd input’ meant press any button or open a thread.

Thanks for the suggestion it is obviously a FF problem but short of reinstalling FF I’m at a loss having checked all security settings and wiped cache etc.

Strange thing is that it only happens on Forumite!

Deathlac works, but soon stops working on outside surfaces. Nippon is the one that Mark remembered, that works too but you have to put it where pets will not lick it.

Some people have a major problem with wasp stings. A friend of mine would die if stung as he has a major allergy to their sting. Yes he does carry all the stuff he needs if stung, but understandably is terrified of having to see if they will save him, as the medical profession helpfully say – ‘ Just do not get stung, in case it does not work for you ‘

I’m afraid this means the death sentence from June onwards for any nests near our house, just in case!

We talk about cigarettes and drink as drugs – true – BUT HMG make tax revenues out of those mugs!!

That is one of the benefits of legalising the production and sale of marijuana. A number of US States are using such income in their drug rehab programs. It also had the benefit of nearly killing the skunk market. I have not seen data on its effect on youth crime but it would not surprise me if it has not removed some of the gang related ‘turf’ wars.

The BIG question is – are we trying to reduce crime or reduce drugs use? They are not necessarily bedfellows.

I guess it depends on your definition of drugs, as alcohol and nicotine are both known to be highly addictive – more so in fact than marajuana. My personal belief is that this is an area where engrained and possibly mistaken moral beliefs may need to be questioned and hard evidence examined instead.

Not all implementations of decriminalisation have worked – the emphasis being on the implementation details and efforts spent on reducing drug habits. However for a model that seems to work and incorporates the best attributes, the Portuguese model bears examination. link
