Much as I moan about Greyling’s transport legacy, I can see logic in London getting a disproportionate share of funding as it remains the largest generator of national wealth, and will become more important as Brexit destroys our remaining industries.
I must confess I have always worried about a Cloud-based application that stored ALL your passwords. It sounded too much like a disaster waiting to happen. Just one slip-up by LastPass and bang goes your security. On a scale of one to ten this specific incident only ranks a six, but the numbers of bits of malware that couple together multiple different insecurities seems to be growing.
I personally use an open source off-line password manager such as the ones on this list.
+1 to Graham’s comments. I said Android for simplicity but meant ARM.
My off-the-wall guess is that all the Fusion pads have the same Android chipset sitting underneath. IF this is the case then normally a factory reset uses a combo of the ‘home key’ + ‘vol-up’, and or ‘vol-down’ all pressed together and held for 6 secs or so. That sometimes drops you into a menu that allows you to reload the drivers for specific devices.
Up to you whether you try as there is a finite chance you can screw up the settings.
IF you can find out how to do a factory reset then do so.
Have a good one Lee! I hope that this year is a happy one, and is much better than the last 12 months.
+1 for Dave’s response.
There are only a very very few programs that will not run in Windows 10, especially if you use the compatibility mode. The very few that do not are usually the result of the software house deliberately obsoleting their programs to make money. If you have a spare copy of Windows 7 you can install Windows 7 within virtual box or the free version of vmware player. You can then launch Windows 7 and install the recalcitrant program within the Windows 7 guest operating system. I’d say that procedure handles 99% of these difficult cases.
I use this process to setup a Foscam camera that refuses to install in Windows 10 Edge or Firefox.
Typical US Democrat’s view of the mendacious Bojo’s antics. link
To paraphrase “Absolute wanker!”
Managing power supplies is quite complex. It isn’t just the load that matters but also its type (resistance – as in heating, or inductive – as in motors and its impact on phasing). There is also the complexity of their backup routing (which is normally many miles from the ‘main’ route) having different sorts of loads.

Nothing to do with Brexit, but who will remember that when we face fuel price hikes and petrol shortages just about when the lead-in to Brexit starts.
Bob, even in the ‘best case’ of a No deal, there will be a major disruption. For every day of port delays you can calculate roughly a ten percent shortage in long-haul road transportation. This of course translates directly into shortages across the board.
During my career I ran many simulation studies on road and port congestion. As a rule of thumb congestion starts when the infrastructure is loaded to more than 70% and at 90+% it becomes nearly unworkable.
The worst case Brexit scenario results in roughly a 20% shortage in long haul road transport which will translate directly into one hell of a grim Christmas for most people with the biggest impacts on the poor and sick.
The Guardian covers the possibility of the DUP being manoeuvred into a legal arrangement for Ulster that differs from the mendacious BoJo’s previous commitment to them. see today’s Guardian
IF the untrustworthy BoJo has got an Ace why wait to reveal it? He cannot afford to just spring an outrageous Ace on either the EU or Parliament. If it is something that no-one has previously mooted then he will need time to sell it. Lets face it, he has proven that he is both mendacious and untrustworthy, so he is going to have to do a lot of convincing before anyone will accept his words.
Given the unknowns, my inclination would be to get it working and updated with the existing disk drive, then if you must to clone this to your new SSD.
Unless the mendacious BoJo succeeds in cobbling together a deal with the EU and Parliament his only option (other than breaking his word yet again) is to resign. The EU has stated that they will only deal with a PM, in that situation I CAN see a Government of National Unity pledged to sort out Brexit then call an election. Corbyn would be unacceptable as a leader, but someone such as Ken Clarke could lead it.
A ps to my last post, although it says ‘Graphics’, the Intel Driver and Support Assistant will identify all Intel devices that need driver updates. I find it an extremely useful tool for my NUCs, and I find new driver updates are released with almost every major Windows 10 update.
I pass on your last question, but you should be able to install drivers in safe mode (with networking). You probably should read this article on Intel DCH driver updates as they ain’t your normal driver!
Fine, but it may well throw a wobbly even with a fresh Windows install. I am uncertain if M$ include all low level Intel drivers in their latest pack. A generic driver probably will not work in this case.
Marc according to the thread I linked it is an Intel error and not covered by Lenovo’s own driver updates. (i.e. you will not see any yellow exclamation marks).
Actually I was right in thinking of a driver issue but wrong in suggesting the graphics driver, this looks like a well-known Lenovo issue. I searched on the following:
lenovo windows update blue screen “DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL”
and the top of the list was this.
