I would question the GP re methotrexate and folic acid. Manylinks cite very positive benefits of taking folic acid WITH folic acid as metotrexate destroys folic acid which is bad news for arthritis.
Software patents on H264 stuffed up a lot of Linux developments. Bizarrely you are more likely to find H264 support on a Pi than a Linux PC due to these licensing problems. There are now a few open source options for Linux Desktops but I guess it takes time for them to get wide support and Windows still rules commercial decisions.
On Windows I use BlueIris to control cams and this includes a LAN streamer with output that is fully compatible with Linux.
If you can; ask for a copy of the Blood Test results. I’m not sure whether Wales has the same Blood Form as this area, but if you check any results with an exclamation mark then google the test you may well find some that may have a bearing on your problem that you can discuss with your GP.
The MCV, MCH, MCHV and MPV results may be of interest and have a bearing on arthritis and nerve pains . Some can indicate a simple vitamin deficiency that may be aggravating your problem.
A folic acid or vitamin B12 deficiency can have quite wide knock-on impacts and may be caused by your diet. For example. UK Doctors tend to overlook folic acid as they assume that everyone eats breakfast cereals or shop bread that have been dosed with sufficient folic acid to meet your RDA. If like me you shun that source then it can throw your bloods quite out of wack .
IF allowed by GP, (beef)liver is one of the best dishes to have. It not only cures iron deficiencies but hits a lot of B vitamin/folate/K2 deficiencies too.
Sorry made a stupid typo in my example. The browser address should of course be port 83 and not the port 82 I typed.
Lee is correct that some cameras also use a plug-in, to set-up and control the camera, but often they will also send out a LAN addressed view as well if you set it up. Probably a case for RTFM!
Normally an internet connected camera will set up a server which has a DNS address for each camera e.g. 192.168.1.139 it will often as not not output on port 80, so you need to find out which port your server uses.e.g port 83. You then just type 192.1.168.139:82 into your browser address bar.
If you go to Street hide SWMBO’s credit card. Too many factory store ‘bargain’ temptations!
Pace yourself Bob, your body has had a big shock. Depression at any set-backs can be your biggest enemy, so keep up your positive outlook!
Ubiquity, maybe with an extender to get to the ideal spot is less hassle than cabling up your house. Imo both are good, but cable may not give you wifi where you need it for your phone etc.
I initially cabled my house, but I’m not sure I would do the same today. It really depends how good your walls are at killing wifi signals. Mine are ‘great’ at this so I have a mixture of cable+Ethernet->wifi adapters. However I think if I had cabled up to a suitable highpoint then ubiquity would have been the best solution for me.
I’m being thick – what does it do?
” Loads of videos and photos he’s taken to show prospective customers, way too much for 120GB so had to order a 240GB.”
Re: Snail-like Win10 — Check out that it isn’t the nasty Photos app + Cortana +File Indexing. The former is deadly at all times while the latter two can take days to stop poking around. I personally zap them from the start as they do nothing for me. Making Photos never use background helps a lot.
True Dave but when I say the homeplug loses speed I mean really loses speed such that 20fps drops to around 2fps. I suspect it is some sort of handshake issue.
Power cycling the plug at router and slave end often is all that is needed. I have had a gen2 Homeplug on a hard-to-reach security cam installation for the best part of five years with no real issues except an enforced recycling every couple of years. I personally suspect that BT is the root cause as the Homeplug often plays up after BT goes through one of their all too frequent periods off-line.
IF the pump is silent then as Richard says it is likely failed/jammed. Do not leave it in that state as it will quickly go from jammed to failed as the windings burn out. Equally, leaving it in such a state is a moderate fire risk.
I have also found that Homeplugs become less responsive over time, but I have found that unplugging both ends and rebooting them works wonders (for a while!)
A slight divert Bob, next time you are roaming around Nottingham you may be interested in a visit to the National Videogame Arcade, or if you are in Leicester the RetroComputer Museum.
I first came across the latter in one of their many YouTubes.
From memory the only issues I had with Kodi on a Ubuntu VM was in trying to turn it off, but this is probably due to my lack of familiarity with Kodi.
If the Update Trouble Shooter fails then you can try the nuclear options.
a) Start in an Admin account.
b) Open the Command Prompt BUT select ‘run as Administrator’ – stupid but that is a required step.
Then go to this site and follow the SFC/scannow advice.
Download the Update Trouble Shooter and give it a try. From bitter experience some updates only install correctly if you are an Administrator, ditto the Trouble Shooter!
