England’s performance sort of reminds me of the pre-Klopp Liverpool. Start out looking great then snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I’m afraid Harry Kane did not do a good job of firing up his troops in the second half, and that contributed to England going flat.
The Belgium match is now the important test whether Southgate/Kane really have what it takes.
A month or so ago the Scottish newspapers were full of accounts (unverified) that Cork is already being used as a transit point for EU based economic migrants. Apparently it is an easier route than coming through Calais-Dover etc.
Looks like their are a number of options to avoid paying the Google/Chromebook snooper tax. Windows and Gallium for two, though I’ll admit Crouton looks an interesting middle ground.
I think if I were looking at a Chrome Book I would definitely flash the bios to get rid of the Google snooper (first part of the Windows install), then install a proper Linux and use it with my own Synology cloud.
I’m sorry to hear of your woes Richard, while I understand your reluctance to get into long distance treatment please do not put off treatment as things can progress very quickly if you are unlucky.
According to the Daily Wail there is a revolutionary new treatment that works!
I agree Wheels, but those who wish to curtail EU migration may get worried when they realise that Ireland will not discriminate another EU citizen whatever their origin as that is illegal under EU law. In other words an open Irish border is just that – its OPEN!
I’ll put aside problems such as smuggling if we do not adhere to the Customs Union as you can figure out what it would mean if one side has subsidised farming and the other doesn’t.
Interesting Dan, but how would you fix the Irish/Ulster conundrum without plunging the two into a blood-bath?
I wouldn’t be staunchly blocking re-unification of Ireland.
That would also lead to a bloodbath, but instead of the IRA it would be the UVF doing the shooting and bombing. The Ireland/Ulster border is not governed by logic, instead religious differences, emotion and history rule the day. The Good Friday Agreement is not perfect but gives everyone a working compromise that will allow time to eventually make these differences a matter of history. Now is too early to get rid of it. Btw the Good Friday Agreement is why no politician talk of removing the Human (mis)Rights Act from our laws and why an outside power will continue to have the last word on any interpretation of our laws.
It is also politically impractical for this Government to do such a deal as the DUP would pull the plug.

Failing that Windows 10 allows you to change the way text appears on the screen. Settings->Ease of Access->Display Use the ‘Make Everything Bigger’ option (as the Art Mistress said to the Gardener)
It also picks up your wifi cell tower, and if not using wifi it does an IP location using Google geolocation services.
Your browser will by default spew back all your location details to any site you visit. Try turning off geo location in your browser if that bugs you. I personally hate it and all the stupid ‘regional’ advertising it spews out as a result.
July 10, 2018 at 6:48 pm in reply to: When a little knowledge or even less is a fatal attraction #22969Hard to say what has gone wrong. Normally you just change the setting in Windows Control Panel ‘Region’, and if you have two languages you can select the working/default language in the RHS of the Task Bar.
Well if you believe Chris Anderson (good read btw if ‘Football Manager’ stuff appeals), only 50% of a football match is pure skill, the rest is a mixture of luck
(and bent match officials!).I forgot – one which had me tearing my hair was an ASUS Bios updating program. I think anything that fiddles around with the UEFI is probably going to need to be removed and reinstalled later.
As I’m feeling pedantic and nit-picky, actually Wasbit is wrong as the EU did not exist prior to 1st November 1993 after the Maastrict treaty came into being It had separate lives before that as the EEC (post 1957) and I think it was called the ECSC before that.
I’d start with Microsoft’s troubleshooter. link
I’d also shutdown then reboot but log in to an Admin Account before manually starting the above and an update. It is sometimes a driver that is causing the problem especially graphics drivers so do the yellow exclamation routine. (I’d also remove any attached usb kit before starting the update as their drivers also cause issues – do the hidden devices thing and clean out that driver pool)
edit – hands-off while updating may also help.
With hindsight perhaps what May should have done when taking office was to say, “OK you want Brexit that’s decided but what type of Brexit do you want? I will research all practical options and then present them to you (i.e. by referendum) to pick.”
That is basically what they have been doing for the last couple of years. Remainers have asked from the outset what does Brexit mean – and the silence was deafening.
May has now finally set out her interpretation of what it means, and I think that the neutered Brexit Bulldog has hinted in his speeches that this was his intended final offer to the EU. He was miffed as he does not think it a good idea to negotiate with cards on the table. However all the noise and furore has probably given May the ability of telling the EU that the alternative could be a complete Brexit shambles.
I am glad that Bojo has thrown in his cards. The last two years have demonstrated that he is too immature to hold high office in any Government or even business for that matter. We are better off as a country without him.
If you Google it then the Sky Q USB port does nothing and is not internally enabled. Rumour is that at one time Sky was going to provide a modem to plug into their USB port but that idea foundered and just left the port!
The problem is the Good Friday agreement and breaking up the UK. One reason I voted remain.
It seems to be an intractable problem to have both an open Irish border without adhering to EU regulations and at the same time restricting the flow of non-Irish EU citizens. Both are an invitation to smugglers (both ways for goods) and people seeking to slip into the UK (or EU).
It is a logical impossibility, but what politician ever looks at things logically!
Make it a three way referendum.
a) Full Brexit and the hell with the Irish border/British Manufacturing
b) CETA +/-
c) Reject Brexit
We will soon be in the period when the Parliamentary inbreds go on their hols to their tax havens, so May needs to do something quickly. A second referendum in September could keep them all fully occupied over their hols and at least give the country a chance to reflect on this bleeding mess.
