But all the joints on the right hand side, including my shoulder (seems weird but makes sense) are more worn than the left. I get bad backs because of the spine bending but it’s rare it spasms so much I can’t move.
A Mate of my no.1 son is a podiatrist (specialises in stance, gait etc plus of course sports medicine), once commented to me ‘Bloody Doctors, they never look at the whole body. Purpose built footwear would save the NHS a fortune in treating lower back pain and hip replacements’
We have already adopted it, so why not? I think there would be an outcry if attempts were made to lessen privacy post Facebook et al.
Why we would change our minds Graham if no-one lied to us?
Walking is the best exercise, as the leg muscles actually do part of the hearts function in pumping the blood around. (Not jogging or running on hard surfaces unless you want your knees/hips to disintegrate). Swimming is even better. But if you cannot do those then the post-cardiac nurses will advise you on upper body exercises that do a good job.
I would assume that P is for Program, except there is no clock symbol. If there was I’d assume you can use it to preset the on timer to (say) 10am, the temperature to 200 C, in fan mode, and an off time of 12:30pm to allow you to cook your chicken unattended, and give it a 30 minute rest while you have a well deserved beer!
I think that keyboard short-cuts work on the ‘default’ hardware. Perhaps you need to double check that you have set appropriate defaults.
A tempered glass screen cracked in my trouser seat pocket coming down a helter skelter with a Grandson. Obviously my fault and way beyond the usual limits for screen bending. I should have known better, but it is hard to think through all the implications when taking a grandchild out on a hot summer’s day, and welfare concerns kick in. Not the first time I have done something similar but ijits never learn!
It is now far easier just to stick to a maximum 5.25 inch screen size, and this is the size that I now prefer.
Looks nice but it exceeds my requirement that phones fit in my shirt pocket. (I’ve broken too many screens sticking phones in my trouser pockets)
Glad to hear that your stents went OK, take it easy for a while. You should get plenty of post-hospital advice before you leave and they will advise you what/when you should be doing things.
When I had the normal post-op aftercare the big thing they stressed even before exercise/diet/smoking etc was morale. Apparently one side-effect of a heart attack is that some people get kicked into deep depression – thoughts of mortality I guess. Building on that finding it could be a good time to stick some funnies on your pad and read some belly-laugh comedies,
Just to add to Dave’s advice, after they have sorted you out, it is wise to cut down on the ‘sitting around’ just fiddling with PCs etc and exercise more — fast walking a couple of miles/day is a good low cost alternative to joining a gym.
If your area has good aftercare they will advise you on building up to this or alternative more suitable exercise options as well as strategies for losing weight. For example, no snacks plus cut out sugar completely, and do not eat breakfast, only water until midday two days/week — sounds horrible but is actually pretty easy to do.
Have they decided how to treat you? Angioplasty etc?
As said by all, best of luck.
Had the gastroscopy earlier today and it was horrible.
Yep, that is why I always ask for sedation for my biannual check. Claiming that the procedure causes involuntary larynx spasms helps to get you on the sedation track.
Btw Richard there are many laws that are ignored by the general population. For example,:
a) Anyone who celebrates Easter on any day except the first Sunday after the second Saturday in April is ignoring the law’
b) Anyone carrying a plank of wood in the street is breaking the law.
c) An employer cannot give a (subjective) bad reference as this may constitute libel.
d) It is an offense to activate your burglar alarm and leave the property if you haven’t nominated a key-holder who can access your house to switch off your alarm should it go off. (As a result most alarms switch themselves off after 10 minutes or so)
There are many more daft laws that people ignore and our overstretched police force just ignores.
Better that Richard than 15 years of jobless poverty following a hard Brexit.
Drezha if you like the ‘look’ of KDE, try Bodhi for eye-candy. or browse through these managers for different stripped down window managers. (its advisable to use a vm rather than screw up your main Linux box as some of these can be quite unfriendly.
” In fact it is a common occurrence for democracies to periodically have repeat chances to cast a vote. ”
Most ‘democracies’ have regular votes i.e elections.
We had ours in 2017, and it is rumoured that Theresa aka Submarine May will surface to launch a November 2018 Election missile at the Tory Conference. If she does, I and a lot of other Middle of the Road people will vote Labour in order to get a chance to stay in the EU. It would not surprise me to find a lot of lifelong Tory city types doing the same thing.
Interesting times
Unless town centres evolve fairly quickly they will die.
Imo the average town centre should become a social meeting point, dining/drinking venue, and entertainment/exercise centre combined with personal services (e.g. hairdressers etc). The only surviving shops will sell the sort of things that we need NOW but forgot to order on line e.g. glue, sticky tape, paint testers, food. booze etc. I omitted teenage facilities mainly because I do not think anyone has cracked that area. Maybe something on the lines of a Laser Tag stadium with robotic foes for the lads and adventurous lasses, but I’ve no idea what female oriented pursuits should be provided.
Larger shopping centres could also evolve to provide the touchy-feely hand-on experiences that we all like. Rather like a personal shopper experience linked to an on-line order/delivery service. Even factory oulet towns such as Street only have a limited lifespan against on-line shopping
How we bridge the gap from here to there could cause a massive amount of pain unless it is well managed at the Government/Local Authority level!
While I agree with much of what you said, especially ‘lying politicians’, I disagree with respect to your statement that it would be undemocratic to have another referendum. In fact it is a common occurrence for democracies to periodically have repeat chances to cast a vote. It is only at those times that we have the opportunity to express our displeasure at their lies and broken promises. It is also common elsewhere to have repeated referenda over the same issues.
The only real debate is on timing. Would now, (when we know the terms and implications of Brexit) be the right time for one. By my previous statements I truly believe that to be the case.
What impact this would have on our already damaged relationships with the EU, I do not know,; but Eire did not suffer long term damage from their second referendum and neither did Spain.
While there may be a feeling of resentment in the EU populace, I do not think that would be reflected at Government level as they are quite aware that Brexit has already cost us billions of pounds, as well as damaging our economic growth to the benefit of other EU members.
