If I use a Paypal payment on a ‘foreign’ or previously unknown account e.g. Chibay etc then I will change my Paypal password immediately after use. I really do not trust the sites that helpfully link you ‘directly’ to Paypal as there is no way of telling if they are logging every character sent.

Probably unnecessary but it is a personal paranoia that makes a password manager essential.

What I dont understand is Labours threat to table more motions of no confidence in the run up to March 29th

That is rather easier to understand, and Corbyn has kicked that off with his bit of grand-standing saying that he will not talk until May takes a Hard Brexit off the table. He is perfectly aware that the vast majority of MPs (of both parties) effectively voted against a Hard Brexit. You should expect a continuation of such demands as he tries to totally fracture the Conservative Party.

The only way May can defeat such moves is to come right out and spell out what she wants from a post-Brexit world as what she has tabled so far is pure pabulum for Conservatives and DUP consumption. If she says that she wants a Norway or Canada deal then other than the Irish border Corbyn will be on much softer ground with his tactics.

“Theresa May has seen off a bid to remove her government, winning a no-confidence vote by 325 to 306 — BBC Report”

As turkeys never vote for Christmas either Corbyn is politically naive, or there is a deeper medium term game in mind.

Perhaps Sinn Fein will take up its six seats as often urged to do by Eire MPs. That would put the cat in the political pigeons!?

Now that you have everything ‘on’ , set the PCs up in the same way, allow time to stabilise and take the power reading. Now turn them off and take another power reading. It will be interesting to compare the difference with your previous reading.

Richard your observation on ethnicity and ailments is very true but something that is whispered rather than given a full airing for fears that it may be racist.Cancer Research has some broad brush stats.

An Indian doctor friend said it was observed that people from the sub-continent suffer more circulatory diseases than others but the NHS never takes it into account when screening,

It is a few years since I filled out an export declaration, but one of the big gotchas used to be the requirement to deposit (overseas) a bond to cover the import tariff when moving between the bonded location and the market. This was typically large enough to impact cash flow requirements. i.e the tariff was paid upfront by the importer!

The impact of tariffs on a business should not be lightly dismissed.

As the average time to negotiate a trade deal seems to be about five years, we just need to tell all Welsh farmers etc that they will only have to tough it out for five years. Easy provided you do not mind a revolution.

Other than potential EU treaty impacts, the Twitter post only bears relationship to the tariffs WE charge. It does not cover the tariffs that WTO members are OBLIGATED to charge if we do not have a trade agreement with that country. It is this obligation (the 40% tariff on Welsh lamb as an example) which Steve’s link covers. These are NOT FUD numbers they are legal obligations, no ifs or buts. Until (say) we have a trade agreement with the EU this is the tariff the EU MUST levy.

I think the dire financial warnings are all about a ‘hard’ Brexit.  Watch the video Steve posted and you will see just why a GATT fallback would ruin this country. If you do not agree with the legal/financial / ramifications of GATT please educate me why the video id inaccurate.

Even Welsh farmers are now concerned as they realise a 40% tariff on lamb kills their farms.

There is typically a five+ times multiplier on job losses in the car industry when you factor in impacts on suppliers.

Many people blame Soros for his conspiracy to flood Europe with refugees. link

The conspiracy theorists then  link Soros with a CIA plan to destabilise the EU, in the same way the CIA played a sub-rosa role in destabilising former Yugoslavia with ‘Middle East ‘freedom’ fighters. (well publicised by a call to arms in the Gulf Times of that period.)

My advice would be go ultra wide if you are buying a new monitor. I went UW when I upgraded and made a massive difference to my eyes. I read some where later that it’s more natural for the eyes to look at a wider picture.

Makes sense, staring at a restricted area lowers the blink-rate for eyes causing them to dry out. Presumably a wider screen forces more eye movement.

“Blinking is very important when working at a computer; blinking moistens your eyes to prevent dryness and irritation.

When working at a computer, people blink less frequently — about one-third as often as they normally do — and many blinks performed during computer work are only partial lid closures, according to studies.

Tears coating the eye evaporate more rapidly during long non-blinking phases and this can cause dry eyes. Also, the air in many office environments is dry, which can increase how quickly your tears evaporate, placing you at greater risk for dry eye problems”. — Eye Health

Sounds like it’s the season to purchase one – I’ve ordered this one yesterday to be delivered on Friday. I fancied a 4K screen, but my Mac Mini wont support it (other than at 30Hz) and I’ve have issues with a high def laptop screen at work and some programs that I would use at home so I don’t think I’m ready to drop it on that. Want to get a desk arm as well – can’t decide on this one or this one.

The 30Hz limit for hdmi is quite common to even Windows PCs unless you have a very high end GPU, which seems to be an Apple weak spot. However even with Apple you may be able to get 60hz through a USB-C to display-port cobble but you would need to research that area.

+1 for Dave’s response. M2 cards are quite demanding both on lanes AND interrupts. Check your M2 requirements for your specific mobo – from memory Sound Cards have very specific interrupt requirements and so too do M2 cards.  (you will probably find the data on lanes and interrupts hidden in your mobo docs.)

Sorry Wheels, but you are on a hiding to nothing.

Local democracy means absolutely nothing. Even if 100% of the local population objects all that will happen will be a Public Inquiry to give people a chance to vent off. The Inspector will then go away and publish a response from afar that stipulates that Local Plans MUST take in the needs of neighbouring counties.

In the event the Council changes their mind and withdraws plans then the review of your Plan by the Planning Inspectorate will reverse that decision!

Do not bother to raise your blood pressure in a fruitless venture unless you go in to it knowing that your actions will only be symbolic. As I have said before, real democracy does not exist in the UK.
