Probably only of interest to Dave, but the Pi4 launch site is running on a cluster of Pi4s in a sort of distributed mode (Pis allocated to specific tasks). Ars link
Actually Steve the only time that large caches/memory/storage come into their own is during the ‘training’ phase (think on it as a massive curve fit with random jumps to get rid of false results). The pretrained models can be, and usually are, quite small. For example the smart phone camera systems that recognise faces.
At this time so-called quantum computers do not really help as the difficult bit is selecting the data on which the set is trained. (hence the problems in it currently being relatively easy to add ‘malign’ data).
The use of neural networks with their hidden layers makes interpretation and understanding of ‘how’ the model works very difficult and investigation of ways of making such models spit out ‘why’ it gets a particular answer is a major research subject. For example ‘why’ the relatively useless police face id program spits out so many false answers if non-white people are involved, or why a bit of carefully applied face paint (not a mask!) makes someone invisible to the camera (identifies as not a person).
I could not see a requirement for 4GB unless I start processing larger data sets so I settled on the 2GB job plus a fan module.
Ferranti Computers – the Atlas was the first computer I ever ‘programmed’. (95% of the time correcting typos)
She publicly stated that she would take no action against him, except she recommended that he went on an anger management course.
El Reg has a good review – it looks like the fan or air cooler may be a good thing to have.
You beat me to it!
The main CPU improvement has not been in raw speed but in power consumption. Unfortunately that has not translated to longer lap-top battery life as GPU demands have at least doubled during that period.
It is not what he did it is the way he did it that causes the problem. Using a choke hold is a totally ineffective way of dealing with a supposedly armed female. Every female (mainly Conservatives) that I have talked to were horrified by the incident and the way it was handled.
Theresa May’s unrelenting war on Police numbers is probably the main cause of both a lack of security and their ability to anticipate problems, especially perpetrators who shun the use of electronic communications. To my knowledge, the area I live in has lost all the experienced officers who knew the area, and were in touch with the rumour mill. A major incident can now only be dealt with by drawing in off-duty officers from the surrounding counties and results in delays and police who have difficulty in even finding their way around.
Camp – the “coffee” that my dad used to drink. He picked up the habit when out in India in WW2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Coffee It was foul tasting to a 4/5 year old when he insisted I try it.
It was nice when stirred into a boiling milk/*conny onny mix.
*condensed milk – like an unbelievably sweet white treacle.
Very nice lighting – are the flames ‘particles’?
Just pushing his seat back would have blocked the passage way. Grabbing her breast then her throat were clearly not appropriate to any situation.
Sorry, but I do not agree with the Tory apologists who have posted, as my OP clearly just made the statement that this action could come back to haunt Election prospects – women are becoming far more organised and militant in punishing any perceived chauvinistic actions.
I would have had a milder supportive view had you just said it would be important to fast track the official investigation, and nip this in the bud.
He had ample opportunity to see that women in evening gowns pose little risk, his actions were disproportionately violent as he could have just stood up and blocked her path.
It was perhaps extremely unfortunate that he gave the following speech the previous week, and demonstrated the usual mendacity of politicians.
“We should all be proud that the UK remains committed to helping women all over the world feel safe and protected in the work that they do so they are able to speak very freely, and to be part of the change that we all wish to see.”
50:50 IPA/Water is fine for screens, but a damp microfibre cloth works OK as well, but I’m not familiar with Vape residues.

re reboot – true, but the ,Net update forces one.
Probably the easiest way of fixing would be hot glue as Toms Hardware posts make clear that bolts that go right through the work can be a problem.
As a divert the biggest source of EMR used to be switched psus (a la Apple II). This was so bad that Apple was rumoured to recommend to its sales force that the Apple was sat near a Trash 80 as it totally stuffed the Trash 80’s screen. It was also probably responsible for the US bringing in EMR certifications regs.

+1 for Duke’s reply – check at Toms Hardware for more detail.
As a total diversion from the subject the biggest problems occur when parts of the mobo are properly grounded to the case but others are not – then you can get all sorts of little problems that are a real pig to sort out.(Mainly really carp sound).
Ditto, but a loose wiring loom between the keyboard and Mobo causes major issues in laptops.
