Steve the only person ‘leaking’ it over here was me as the linked Giz site is a US only one!

However General Foods own the world, so who knows what we get except that it must conform to fairly stringent EU standards that make allowance for idiots who taste their pet’s food. I’m sure that Trump would like to change it all hence my comment about putting it on a watch list.

If you remember the Crossrail TV series the Project Manager for BAM Nuttall was in fact an American female. I’ll steer clear of the female bit as I have met and worked with very competent female managers, however putting a Yank into the mix was probably not a good idea as the Project Manager would have had to manage a unionised situation and the interfaces with the general public and worst of all the incompetent supremo Chris Greyling. I suspect that many Union strike issues were down to Greyling and an American used to firing staff or toughing out strikes.

They should have chosen a manager who was used to working around/through Unions, idiot Civil Servants and heads of the Dept of Transport. Any manager who succeeded in bringing home a project within contingency would have been a star performer.Such limitations should also have been placed on sub-contractor selection.

I think Dave has shown people how to use the Win7 backup in 10 more often than I and may have a better how-to link.

If installed programs are important to you use the Win7 backup option. link

John, why not just make two backups. One ‘System’ backup using Microsoft backup or Trueimage if you must(burn it to a DVD) and one ‘all other’ data using Trueimage. Or simply just backup the data and use the Win10 full recovery mode.

In the event everything goes t-up, restore the system, then load Trueimage, then recover all the data.

Best to keep it simple then you will understand where everything is.

If you need one then according to an ElReg report, now may be a good time to buy:

“The temporary loss of manufacturing capacity will reduce global flash supplies around 24 per cent between August and October this year, we’re told, and this, in turn, may fuel short-term price rises of 5 to 10 per cent.”

To me they seemed to point a finger at dried food – in that situation it is difficult to see what is sourced from meat protein and what is vegetable e.g. processed soy bean unless it is specified.

Just got a 128Gb SSD and a USB3/SSD adapter for a shade over £20. I think it will make a nice usable combo with the Pi4b. Now I need to look for an 1980s PC box such as a VIC20 or Atari to put them in!

My wife is similarly blessed by being more or less immune to Northern Hemisphere insects, however when we went to New Zealand the Black Flies/Sand Flies ate her alive and left me alone. I could track her progress along the lake shores by the huge plume of flies above her!

Just spent the morning up a ladder in full sun cleaning our gutters of a horribly hard cement of moss+pigeon crap. I switched on my tropical acclimatisation quite quickly so the local temperature of 29C was quite tolerable, unlike the pigeon carp.

I spent most of the morning up the ladder day-dreaming back to my youth when pigeons were not so much of a problem due to Government encouragement to introduce them to Master .410 or Miss .22. I can still remember the April/May treat of squab pie and the joy of firing the .410 through an untidy nest.  However as I gingerly filled each bucket of carp I could not help wishing that Chris Packham soon catches a really nasty dose of psittacosis from either/both pigeons or herring gulls!

Looks like it is real Chinese tech which is years ahead of US aerospace technology and the US is scrambling to play catchup. What must really worry the US is that China and Russia have a history of sharing tech advances.

A horsefly bit her, about 6 bites in all, including one on her cheek (not the one next to her nose) and they left massive marks which are still itching badly.

Horseflies are nasty little b’s. However, if you can whack them hard when you get the first sharp pain they don’t have time to spit in all their nastiness. If they do manage to drop their full pay-load into me, such bites swell like balloons and itch for days!

Six bites are not at all funny, tell Tamara she has my sympathy and to wear vertically striped clothing (zebra like) in future, as research has shown that you accumulate far fewer bites.

Like Richard I find the temperatures just pleasantly toasty BUT the humidity has just sky-rocketed in the last hour and gives it a sub-tropical feel.

She may want to start looking at learning how to do some basic data using operations.

It is getting to the state where most Government forms now have to be filled in on line. She could also probably benefit by the use of things such as the NHS app which both provides advice and a wrapper for accessing stuff at her GPs practice.

With Windows 10 I do not think you have enough ssd storage to play silly b’s. Windows 10 can require quite a lot of free space to perform updates. Better just to have a single partition. You’re recommended to have up to 50GB of free space for flawless experience. link

Its not even just the MAXimum disaster, they also have major problems with the Boeing Dreamliner link. The latest one (hydraulics) could affect the plane’s ability to use brakes during landings/taxiing. A number of BA aircraft are affected by this one but BA say they have it in hand. I don’t think I want to fly on ANY Boeing plane again!

Thanks for the link, I missed it – I personally would not have included cold calls as most of the damned things are offshore but I have never seen/heard since using the Truecall box that Dave pointed me to a couple of years ago. I’m also pretty careful with who I give my mobile number and play hell with them if Truecaller  shows a spike in unsolicited calls.

Computers have already been used for ‘simple’ judgements (undisputed facts, application of the laws) e.g. link. I think the day is 10 or 20 years away before systems can judge whether someone’s evidence is trustworthy or is disputed – then we may see the happy day when 90% of politicians are jailed!
