Just discovered a copy of Pinnacle Studio+ V9 on a shelf, never used or opened. Will try to load that tomorrow and see if it works with W7. Tbh not 100% certain if the VCR is actually working either – but have another spare to try just in case.
Will update as and when, for now thank you all very much for the suggestions and tips.

This is where (again) I show my complete lack of knowledge in this field – the A-D converter is a Pinnacle make, Dazzle unit with the 3 inputs and a USB plug to the PC. This is on loan to me and no drivers were provided – I assume that you mean of I can get the drivers for this unit that it should work?

Hi FS – The term you are looking for is ‘auto sheet feeder’ and many of the Epson Workforce printers have this as well as duplex scanning – though only one side at a time and then pulled back in to do the other side. I have a WF-2750 unit – it can also do duplex printing and pretty fast as well but it’s £100 – slightly over your budget. However it can also take a CISS unit.
I also have a Canon MX7600 3/1 unit which is very good indeed – they used to be available on Ebay.

My 92yrs old uncle had a hip replacement last Dec (2016) – he had it done by injecting some stuff into his spine, they asked him if he’d like to doze off and the gave him a sleeping tablet – out like a light – he woke a couple of hours later. He was out and home in 2 days. So Bob perhaps your wife might be home a bit quicker than expected.
Hope your urinary problem is not a big deal when the tests are done. Good luck to you both.

My brother had 14″ in Rhayader, Powys and still snowing hard when we spoke, on Anglesey – God had talcum powdered the earth when I got up – it soon went. Hope it stays clear need to go to York on Tuesday and home on Wed!!

My 1968 Ford Anglia – Motorola AM radio – Long Wave and Medium Wave or in truth (where I lived) L wave only. No CD player, no CD input, no Bluetooth, no visual display, the station memory – exactly where you tuned it into the last time, stereophonic speakers – eh!! No memory card input – no nothing really – but I was happy!!

The old saying ‘charity starts at home’ seems to be the order of the day with Ebay and Paypal (part of Ebay) – if this is the way you want to give to charity then I think you will have to accept that not 100% of the proceeds will arrive where you intended them to.
When you see what some of the CEOs of these charities are paid – you might change your mind.

Could I please ask that text and background colours are such that there is no difficulty in reading the text – text like “Forum Index, Latest Replies etc.” with a blue background is ideal imho. In other words please ensure sufficient contrast.
Also is it possible to make finding / replying to messages any easier? For all of the faults of the old MM site, sending PMs was simple – I’m struggling here.
Otherwise I think it’s very good indeed and thank you for all of your hard work over the past 12 months or so.

I would be interested in this – I have Sky Q plus two mini Sky boxes BUT although most of the functions of the remote will work other boxes, it seems that they won’t work the sound / volume. My main Sky is in the lounge and there is one in the kitchen – although the remotes seem identical, one will not activate the volume on the other.
Shame I would have bought the hub off you – was it a mini Sky box?

The old generation certainly had many things going for them that we don’t seem to have now – QUALITY SERVICE ENGINEERS.
My tail of woe concerns our Hotpoint elect cooker which until a few weeks ago we had had for some 9 years. We had insurance on it – £20/month + fridge and freezer cover as well in the price. Anyway cooker either didn’t cook properly – too cool, cooked OK – occasionally or cooked anyway you like as long as it was black! Call the repair man via D&G Ins.
Idiot arrives, Whirlpool insignia on his black T shirt – wife tells him the problem – I was not home at the time of his visit – sticks cooker on a 180C, sticks probe in, says it’s OK and leaves!!
I get home heard what he hadn’t done and called D&G again this time asking for an engineer who could be bothered to do something. Monday same guy at front door – he very soon realised that I had very little opinion of his ‘qualifications / or any abilities’ – we showed him a turkey leg from day before – black (carbonised) legs after 1hr 45mts on a total of 3+hrs cooking time – also said when cooker on 180C, top oven which was off, was at 100C – also mentioned smell of burning oil when main oven on – he replied that the thermostat had oil in it and went onto tell me how one worked. Reminded him of my degree in electrical and electronic engineering and didn’t want a lecture but wanted a solution. Didn’t do anything at all.
Following week another guy arrives, diagnoses faulty cavity (oven) all he did was to actually look inside the oven!!!! Not covered by insurance!!!! Well well well!!
Two morals in this story:
appliance ins is worthless – better put the money to one side and use that to effect a repair or replacement – whatever has gone calamitously wrong with the unit – IT WILL be an item that is excluded under the terms of the insurance.
if you are absolutely useless then there’s always a job for you with Whirlpool!

It says they are in “recent working order” – speaks volumes for the quality of those bygone days – three years these days and some of your expensive white goods are only fit for the tip!
