Yeah Siri works well but Ok Google doesn’t like it at all. Mind, I’ve never used Hey Siri, so perhaps not a fair comparison. If I select the voice search it seems ok, but obviously can’t do this whilst driving!

No real complaints so far, other than OK Google is a POS and doesn’t seem to work a dam. And unlike the iPhone, I can’t press a button to initiate it if it doesn’t hear me (so makes it less useful when driving).

Google Play Music? It plays local files fine and you don’t have to use the online gubbins.

Otherwise I would recommend Double Twist. But Play Music sees me through now.

About £400 odd with one of the accessories, sometimes hit £350.

Better not cos the SE version was £350

It’s taking some getting used to for the power button on the back but I’m sure I’ll get used to it in time.

Ok. I didn’t really do my research before getting this one – just knew that you’d been singing the praises of the G4 and the quick flick at reviews said the G5 wasn’t bad. The SE has a slightly slower processor and 1GB less RAM (3GB, not 4GB) so I’ll see how it is.

                Hum… is this a G4 issue only?

I randomly (read- impulsively) picked up LG G5 SE yesterday in Argos. I’ve not opened it yet due to cadets last night, so I could return it if things are dicey.

Interesting…I’m still based on OneDrive – which (with Home Premium Office 365) is very cheap for 1TB (x 5) – but slow….often very slow. What are the up and down speeds like on google drive?

I had mixed success in the past – it has been pretty quick but there were occasions where it would just lock up and not sync (though I get that with Onedrive as well – less so now that we use the combined Onedrive client, rather than the Onedrive for Business client at work).

I switched to using Insync rather than the Google Drive client and it performed excellently (better than the original).

Since the advice above I found (on virgin) it doesn’t stab you for downs only ups as you say PM. My original concern was streams – downloads as you say blacklion. All the info has helped, as a rule I only download and that’s mainly Windows updates. Now I have a smart box it made me think.

I seem to recall that Windows 10 can send updates to other computers connected to the internet – peer to peer uploads of the updates.

Might want to look into switching it off, as you might be uploading updates to people.

Virgin just sent me a “value statement” today. Looks like I’ve used over 1.5TB in about 4 months

1526GB of data between July and November.

It’s either since HTTPS was added or a Vivaldi issue, but since it was updated, the log in cookie doesn’t appear to be stored as I have to log in manually every time.

Not an issue in my case as the council own my lease and at least one of residents is still a council tenant.

I have a relocation allowance 😉 I just submit expenses to them. Think I can claim for solicitors, moving, trips up there for house hunting etc etc.

It’s a very small company (14 people – 11 of those are engineers) so they actually outsource the HR(!)

If we had some time, we could possibly use the H2B scheme – through my girlfriend as she isn’t named on this mortgage.

So I’m looking at flogging mine, paying the additional fees that will occur (early repayment charges) and then do as you’re saying.

My brother’s got a contract with an estate agent where he pays a fixed fee of about 10 – 15% and they manage the property, including guaranteed rent. Obviously he’s got the option of increasing the rent slightly to cover the fee too :good:

Not something I want to do really – we’d prefer to just pay the mortgage off. It’s looking like that it may be cheaper in the long run to pay off and get a new mortgage as I got mine when the rates were higher.

Yeah. The issue we’ve got is then if we do that, we end up paying the mortgage on the place down here, rent up there and then all the other stuff. So I’m looking at flogging mine, paying the additional fees that will occur (early repayment charges) and then do as you’re saying. However, we’ll start looking now in case something comes up.

The company has been helpful and I’ve friends up there from my old firm that can help as well.

Having bought my current place, I know what you’re on about (I was chain free buying from a landlord and it still took 3 months).

Had similar before – whilst doing 30mph down a hill. My housemate at the time had to drive my car uninsured to come pick me up! I hear carrying around a tyre boot (or a bit of a margarine tub cut to a reasonable size) can help you limp home.

The exchange rate isn’t to bad but I’d be charged an additional 2.9% percent on top of that. Admittedly, it’s not that much (probably around £0.20 as I think that’s the minimum).

huBic was €10 for the year for 100GB so I went with that initially. I’ve still some wiggle room as I’m at 77GB used. In fairness, music etc is all kept at work usually.

I’ve considered using B2 recently as well (as in, the Backblaze storage). Only thing lacking is software to backup data to it! I could use the Synology – tempting as I’m beginning to creep towards my huBic 100GB limit on my Hyper Backup and B2 would be cheaper than upgrade to the 10TB version. In fact, currently, I don’t believe that I’m backing up all my data (such as music) as it wont fit.

Only thing that’s put me off B2 (or Glacier or S3 even) is that they charge in $ and whilst the price would be small, I’d be charged a fortune in foreign currency fees!
