There are a bucket load on Amazon. Alternatively, if you have an ethernet port, you could get a Raspberry Pi and service that as a WiFi dongle.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

If you can remember the exact partition setup before the destruction, and provided you haven’t formatted or written to disk space with lost data, recreating the partitions exactly should get it back.

Grab a raspberry Pi, set up your own. Works a treat for me.

I had a browse through the Amazon BF deals. Honestly, nada worth getting. All low end carp.

My watch and wireless charger arrived today. In all honestly, I was more excited about the charger than the watch, and it does seem to work very well.

However, I’m not finding the weight problems with the watch that others have found. Having said that, I usually wear a metal cased Sekonda, and since this actually feels lighter than that, perhaps that’s why.

I was surprised that as soon as I paired it with the phone it found a firmware upgrade. There does appear to be some integration with Android apps (the extent of which I haven’t been able to test yet), but it would be nice to at least get a music player control on it.

Nevertheless, I’ll give it a decent go.

I’m a long time Linux user, exclusively at home, so I guess I managed to get very comfortable with it, and very comfortable with being able to fix it on the (now rare) occasions something goes wrong.

Now, at work on Win 10, I spend half my time on Google trying to figure out how to fix the latest breakage after a major update. I guess it’s all down to familiarity.

Mac – I have no time for the walled garden.

Dunno, as an Arch user, a distro with what is generally regarded as the best Wiki for Linux, and which you are expected to be able to maintain yourself, I rarely have problems. On the odd occasion that I have and have needed help, the forums are a godsend.

Nevertheless, post on the forums without exhausting your options first, and woe betide you.

Had a game of Russian roulette with my battery. Took it off charge on Saturday morning at 7am, and haven’t plugged it back in yet. Normal weekend usage (which is a little heavier than weekday). Bluetooth music on the commute to and from work today. Couple of calls, bluetooth speakers overnight for my sleeping music, a bit of gaming yesterday (Real Racing 3 – quite a heavy game, with some 3D Bowling thrown in), FB browsing etc. 20:45 on Monday and still have 20% charge.

The battery life puts other smart phones to shame.

It will be charged tonight. I’m starting to lose my bottle.
