I finally got around to taking the side panels off for a look, and it does seem very well organised. My only problem is taking the front panel off, which I haven’t managed yet. It seems firmly stuck on. I suppose I could add the optical from behind, so not the end of the world.

Also ordered (and delivered to work today, but I took the day off so haven’t seen it yet) A single bay, dual SSD caddy. So yay, no having an SSD sat in there on a shelf anymore.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

Discretion. Spoons are the same (but I don’t like Spoons, so no problem). My local where I live now is very vape friendly.

I have watched it before, but it was a nice re-visit 🙂

My local (before I moved) was a Sam Smiths pub. Beer not bad, but Humphrey is a git. On the Friday night the manager returned from a meeting and told me that with immediate effect vaping was banned, I finished my pint, walked across the road, and never went back.

I have to add, if Sinn Fein participated, TMs cash for votes would work out at £333M per vote, of our money. Meanwhile, the pay rise for doctors, nurses, police, fire brigade etc. has to be found from efficiency savings. This Government is not fit to run a Sunday club, let alone Brexit.

I don’t think anyone advocates a return to the atrocities in Ireland, but it’s certainly a conundrum. More so, since TM paid £1Bn of taxpayers money on DUP votes.

EDIT: If Sinn Fein didn’t wilfully not attend Parliament, that would be £1Bn wasted, since the gain for her and her corrupt Gvt wouldn’t even be realised.

But, but, but – Trafford is around the corner from Bolton (I used to live there and worked in Trafford). It would have been quicker to collect it himself.

                        It’s arrived 🙂

Out of the box, but haven’t even taken the side panel off yet. It lives in the corner, unused until the rest arrives, now. It’s a nice looking case, though.

I have a NAS setup with an RPi hosting two drives, one 500Gb and one 1TB. These hold the rootfs systems for 3 RPis and most of my media.

If I’m honest, I could probably dispense with a drive or two in the main rig, with some re-organisation, and possibly get a dock to add them to the NAS, but y’know, I’ve already spent £1,000 on this build, re-using a lot of stuff. I have no desire at the moment to spend more.

Thanks, Mark. The card I posted out to London yesterday is slightly bigger than this one, and came in at under 900g, so fits the small parcel service. If the Russian wins, I’ll have to assess postage costs and charge it to him, via paypal. He seems to be aware of this, and since payment will be in advance, I don’t appear to be over-exposed.

Thanks, Bob. It’s good to read something from someone I (kinda) know who has first hand experience of it. I expect it to arrive today, but of course, after my initial fawning over it, it will sit empty an unused in the corner for a week until the MB etc. arrive, and I have the time to assemble it all.

I really hate all the waiting now. I’m excited to get my new rig up and running. At 54YO, I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas.

I found a case that may fit the bill, and ordered. Cooler Master which is understated enough for my needs. If there are only 4 HD bays, I can work around that. Could even get a docking station and add to my RPi NAS setup.

Scratch that. Gone off it. No drive bays included – they cost extra. I need all the drive bays, so it would add maybe £30 – £40.

The Ireland problem is the only one that really worries me. S.Ireland are very much against a border, and are not known for their tolerance. This could lead to the old problems.
