Kudos to Southgate for picking a young team, with a good mix of experience, the slapping down some of the older Sports ‘journo’s’ who predictably give the team no chance. (Step forward Lineker, who does not have a good track record). Southgate defended his squad well, especially the younger players. http://tinyurl.com/y6u9h82r
His selection is not a gamble, he says: “I don’t see it as a gamble and I don’t think being free of inhibition is gambling,” said Southgate.
Then he nails the problem in finding the ‘right’ players: “We pick from 33% of the league, which is quite a unique situation, but there is excitement with where we are going.”
All the massive spending on foreign players since the Premier League was created, with the ‘assistance’ of Sky and foreign owner’s billions, coming home to roost.

I'm out.Yes, making different brand sources work together: e.g. a different brand TV/soundbar/STB can be a nightmare. Not to mention a PC or other device. All have various protocols. I have a Samsung soundbar, Sony Bravia TV, self-built desktop, 2 phones, a Hudl and a Lenovo tablet. The last two and phones just work, but getting the TV and soundbar needed some head-scratching. In the end I ditched the TV instructions and went with a mix of instinct, commonsense, trial and error.

I'm out.Could something on this Amazon page work with the Optical connection, WoF?
Never tried one of these, I have a simple 2:1 Samsung soundbar connected to the TV and the TV connected to my Humax box via ARC and a 1.4 HDMI lead. Works fine, but with just HDMI I had no sound either.

I'm out.I saw the oncology consultant and was very heartened by his plain, no-nonsense explanation of what my options are. His summation after all evidence was in, was: –
Within the cyst taken with the pancreas tail, were cancer cells. These are all gone from the pancreas, which is clear. There were also cells in the Spleen which was removed. Apparently, there are 11 abdominal Lymph glands and one of mine has microscopic cancer cells, which will grow if left untreated. I am to start chemotherapy in two weeks, as now is too soon after the Op and I have to carry on with my walking programme and get fitter. I mentioned exercises from a Physiotherapist, which had never materialised, but he took a dim view of them and advised me to just carry on walking, as the best exercise for me. After his assistant checked my height & weight, he said that my weight loss is continuing, but the rate of loss has slowed down and I appear to be getting fitter: muscle tone is improving. I am now a shade under 11 stone, which I have not been able to say for many years. 10 stone and 9 pounds, was my running weight as a very fit young man.
The chemo will take the form of 2 sessions a week for 3 weeks, then a week off, for a total of 6 months. If I wish to have a short UK holiday break, he will adjust the sessions to suit. I have also been offered new drug, just out of trials, which has been found to extend chemo benefits by at least 10%. It is administered at the same time as the chemo and I have said yes to that. Any side effects and it will be stopped, but to me a 10% benefit is an advantage if it works. The alternative is plain enough.
All in all, I believe in this guy and I will continue to listen to advice and fight this noxious disease.

I'm out.Real Madrid? Do you mean that club that plays in a two team league, that has somehow managed to come 3rd?
Not unexpected, but a nice one Steve. Very quotable! ???

I'm out.A bit embarrassing for Marseilles in the end, beaten 3-0 by a clearly superior team. Any critics who talk about the “English long ball game” should take note of the number of long, accurate passes from deep in the Atletico half. They mix it up with short, accurate passes and always seemed to be one pass ahead, always know where each player is, or is going to be. I thought Costa was the destroyer, breaking up moves and bulling his way through, linking well with Griezman, who is such a special player. Sometimes Costa had 3 players trying to fence him in. Another treat for me as a one-time right back, was watching the Atletico RB dribble his way out of his own corner flag and away from 3 Marseilles attackers.
A good, if one-sided game.
Take note that the European Champions league Final will also be on BT’s YouTube channel, live in all formats up to and including 4K. Thank you, BT & YT, I can watch Liverpool at home in HD 1080P on my lovely HP HD monitor!

I'm out. This is a British site, so I believe that even supporters independent from Liverpool, will hope for a Liverpool win, as do I. Unless they are of the tribe that visits Old Trafford, that is…
Waiting for a reply from The Duke….

I'm out.I lost most of the weight in hospital Richard, but for 3 weeks afterwards I had no appetite. I lost many of my former tastes: chocolate, biscuits and a lot of sweet stuff no longer appeal to me. I have always liked veg, but now find myself halving the potato intake and really liking veg. I have also developed a craving for clementines and satsumas, buying a dozen a week and eating 2 at a time after main meals. We have also changed eating habit times, having a small breakfast, main meal at lunch and a small tea, eaten before 7pm, with nothing eaten after that. I am walking quite a bit now, although SWMBO’s hip is still stiff and she cannot walk as much. I am finding undiscovered nooks and crannies around my village: only been here since 2003!
I do feel better for the loss within myself, although my constitution has yet to deal with the Chemotherapy that will be scheduled by my Oncology consultant today at 3 pm.
The dealership is one I would recommend, but I have been told that other Hyundai dealerships are not as attentive. I remember Huskies and Alaskan Malemutes from an old friend who used to breed them. He involved his whole family in regular grooming of the dogs: his children caught on and demanded payment! I believe he has one old Husky left now. He was a reputable breeder with a large kennels until about 20 years ago, made quite a lot of money out of being a trusted breeder, the business and retired.

I'm out.Had a nutter on a bus from Derby to Stoke once, offering to sell me something in a box, unseen. “Greatest bargain you will ever get! Only a Fiver!”
I excused myself, got up into the aisle and started searching my pockets. “What are you looking for?” – “Can’t find my knife!”
He was downstairs and off the bus in about 15 seconds, rang the bell and jumped just before it stopped. I waved to him as we set off again.
I had no knife. You have to out-nutter the nutters.

I'm out.Something like this, but I saw one in the metal years ago, a hard top 2 door, Cream paint, Gold velour interior. Clean lines, I loved it and wanted it.

Doors like barn doors!

I'm out.FYI guys:
1963 Hillman Imp
This vehicle has a 2 door saloon (sedan) body style with a rear mounted engine powering the rear wheels. It is powered by a naturally aspirated engine of 0.9 litre capacity. This powerplant features single overhead camshaft valve gear, 4 cylinder layout, and 2 valves per cylinder. It develops 39 bhp (39.5 PS/29.1 kW) of power at 5000 rpm, and maximum torque of 71 N·m (52 lb·ft/7.2 kgm) at 2800 rpm. A 4 speed manual gearbox transfers the power to the wheels. Stated weight at the kerb is 711 kg. Maximum claimed speed is 129 km/h (80 mph).Cut off one half-coil from the rear springs and it corners better than an original mini, sliding out the rear completely under control.
Then there’s this: http://tinyurl.com/y88llbak
Spec’s don’t read very well in comparison to today’s small cars, but it was innovative in its time and it was ahead of its time. Driving one of these light little motors, was much more fun than a Mini, in any form. Doing 90 in a Sunbeam Sport, always gave me an ear-splitting grin. Throwing it around corners and dragging its ass out in the wind, was something else. The all-alloy engine began life as a Coventry Climax Fire pump.

Yes I know! Saw it across the other side of the field and as I got closer I fell in love with it myself.
It hasn’t changed my old wish for a 2door Pontiac GTO coupe, but it’s close. I’m not a big lover of Yank Tanks, they have to have clean lines and look neat, no massive fins, not drive like a barge on wheels.

I'm out. What causes the issue Bob? I have both and can’t see any problems with https connections.
Thanks Dave.
Looking back to when it happened, I believe it was Kaspersky, making a unilateral decision to update my Total Security 2017 to 2018. At the same time, Kas’s Update service also updated Firefox to version 60.0 (64 bit).
I had this before a couple of years ago, so remembered what I did last time:
Additional – Network – “Do Not Scan Encrypted Connections.” It worked, but will this cause me any further problems?

I'm out.No surprise to me Ed. Young women, especially in drink, are just as likely to attack anyone nowadays. Actually that’s been true for some time. In 1998 I was confronted by a (ahem!) young female person who objected to me stopping her from jumping a queue. She threatened to “Punch my lights out” whereupon I said that, if she wanted to behave like that, I would knock her spark out before she could move against me. She left the queue, with a torrent of excruciatingly bad language.

I'm out.I have had a Coolermaster N300 for about 4 years now:
I do have a DVDRW fitted, a LiteOn which has been through several cases and builds but continues working whenever I need it, which is not often. I also have a Sony USB DVDRW, which gets even less use now but is always there if I need it. It is quite OTT as a case for my needs, but there is a huge space above the DVD which I use for cable management. I have 2x 120 mm front, 1x 120mm top and 1x 120 mm rear fans, all hardly heard even with my electric ears on. I could really use a smaller case, but with all that air (assisted by an Arctic Pro Freezer CPU setup) moving through a big empty space over the warm bits, nothing shows on CPUID HW Monitor above 32ºC. The exhaust air is only ever slightly warm, even on a hot day.
So I don’t have to use much of the cable management, which is good btw, mainly the 24 pin main lead and SATA cables.

I'm out.Started something there, didn’t I? My last thoughts:
The whole family is supposedly descended from the same “blood” for at least 2,000 years. Patently stupid: there is actually a guy in Oz who is descended from the Platagenets and has more “right” to sit on the throne, at least of England. His ancestor has a direct link to Richard III, who was killed ath the battle of Bosworth Field and replaced by Henry VII, a Tewdor. Richard was given the fatal blow by a Welshman (no surprise there) Rhys ap Thomas, who had actually changed sides from Richard to Henry Tewdor, because Tricky Dicky had taken Rhys’ sons hostage. The reward for Rhys was to be knighted by Henry VII and eventually become Governor of Wales. Rather ironic, when you consider that Rhys had fought for Richard III against the last real Prince of Wales, Owain Glydwr.
There is no direct paternal Royal bloodline to Henry Tewdor, at a time when only the male line was considered. However, this is just one instance of the tortuous ways that have been used over the centuries, to keep and “validate” a Royal Family on the English and British throne. After the Normans, it became an entrenched method of keeping an Establishment hold on Britain.
Here endeth this week’s History Lesson. Wake up at the back!

I'm out.Steve if you go to Germany, there is a place in Bavaria you might like, I love it. It’s called Füssen spelled Fuessen in English:
It’s my favourte place in the world, even more than british Columbia, but it’s a long way South, so it’s best to look up the Romantic Road:
– and find good places to stay along the way. It is the highest town in Western Europe, a spur of land which pokes into Austria. The German people are fine, especially down there. I have heard Bavarians call North German tourists “Prussian B******s” but never heard a word against Brits in the many years I went there. It can be a bit expensive, but the scenery and the beautiful old buildings, all decorated in old fashioned Bavarian scenes, are worth it. There are some fantastic lakes amongst the mountains.
Not recommending these holidays, never been with them, but it might give you ideas:
Don’t forget to get an EHIC card for everyone before you go.
