John, your two sky satellite cable F-Type connections would plug straight into a Freesat dish. That’s what I have atm, givves you all the Freeview channels plus many more, and Netflix is also included, although obviously you would need to pay a subscription for that if you wanted it. The link is the same as the one I have and I have never seen one as cheap as this:
It’s in Shropshire. The Sky dish LNB usually works with Freesat, mine did not because this is a poor signal area. I bought and fitted a new LNB, here’s how:
Try it first with the Sky LNB, if you’re interested.

I'm out.December 21, 2019 at 5:05 pm in reply to: Read First if flying on a Boeing 737 Max–or maybe not! #39057Reading further into the Boeing Starliner space craft launch, Boeing say that, had a human NASA astronaut crew been aboard, they would have been perfectly capable of correcting the orbit path.
This is all about the USA’s continuing dependence upon Russian launch facilities, and the occasional European launcher from EUSA. Much egg upon American faces, much quiet satisfaction from Russia.

I'm out. Both chairs gone to their intended recipients. Quick and easy builds in both cases and the finished chairs are very good items and good VFM at £63 (for one).

I'm out.Thank you Dwynne, I appreciate your advice, but I am not contacting the seller and not sending the other item back. Completely understand what you say, just not complying with the advice.
I have asked an ex-delivery driver and a local solicitor about this.
Delivery driver’s experience of the same issue on several occasions, is that the selling company does not chase up the customer, unless the item(s) were very expensive, or as in the case of Zavvi, many examples of the same item, were involved. Not exactly legal advice, but useful. Apparently the extra work involved in admin and picking up the item, has to be considered. The guy involved was delivering nationally for almost 5 years and says that this was obviously a warehouse mistake, of which he experienced more than a few.
Solicitor was speaking off the record as a friend, after researching cases. His advice was that I should be prepared to pay for the second item at the price of the first, IF the company contacts me. I am quite prepared to do that, I have already promised the second one to another family member. He also reinforced the D.driver’s words, that it was a warehouse mistake and would stand every chance of not being spotted, because the delivery note states “One Item.” The driver who delivered the two boxes at my house, was in a rush as they are at this time, and did not ask for a signature, did not scan the barcodes. If I thought for one moment that the driver who delivered the 2 boxes would be liable to any trouble, I would definitely tell the company. My friend the ex-driver has told me about the conditions they work under.
So basically, if they want me to pay for the second chair, I will. If I never hear from them again, that’s an extra present for a family member.

I'm out.I have been using 10 all week now and I have to say that I should have done the switch a long time ago. I love it! Put right the few problems I had, slowly getting everything as I like it.

I'm out.March is not a ‘popular’ month. I asked my dad about my birth once*. March 2, 1945, and both parents were 40, 2 brothers 15 & 17 years before me. Dad said he was celebrating D-Day and a day off at the pit.
*Asking mother only got the usual “I nearly died having you!”
Work it out, go on, you know you will…
Run out of fingers?😁😋

I'm out.Know you are not into 4 wheels Les, but I do recommend this from WHS (or anywhere else):
From the guy who has been designing F1 cars, for many different teams and companies, for 35 years. Engineering drawings and sketches throughout the book, stories about different drivers, 3 wives and a lot of humour. Doesn’t like Bernie Ecclestone and a few other F1 people, holds nothing back. A great read. Then there is this Lincolnshire lad:
Haven’t read it, hoping it’s in my stocking, dropped enough hints anyway. I’m biased, but Guy Martin is the most down-to-earth ‘celeb’ there is, probably never thinks of himself in those words, too busy having fun and breaking bits on 2 wheels or 4.

I'm out.It has actually put me in Chrimbo mood, which as my SWMBO will attest, is a difficult thing to do. Also my son has finished work until Jan 6th, looking forward to seeing more of him for a bit.
As my daft neighbour sings “Jingle tills, jingle tills, jingle all the way. Christmas is that lovely time when all of us must pay!”

I'm out.Coincidentally Ed, today a guy from a computer club answered my Freecycle ad and took away loads of stuff I just could not sell over the last few years. As I was making him a box up, out fell a brand new pack of Verbatim floppies, clipped to the box was a “True Type Fonts” floppy and —- a Windows 98 SE Boot floppy! Missus wondered why I went quiet after hearing a laugh, came to see me looking at the floppies and shaking my head.
Which bears out BL’s point: it’s all progress and it is all now gathering so much momentum, in so many directions, that not many of us here can realistically forecast what will be the computing medium in ten years.
Having said that, I still have my old retail disc, in correct jewel case, of Windows 98 SE, together with the “Get Started” book and other stuff. Might send it to TNMOC at Bletchley. I certainly won’t be using it. And you are reading a Reply from the bloke who has only just switched to Windows 10! Which is taking me some time, btw, to get used to. I was OK until my printer decided not to print Emails and web pages from Win 10. I thrashed it into submission eventually.
Bloody peripherals, got a mind of their own!😆🙄

I'm out.Good luck Nolan, I really hope they have a solution for your problems soon.
Your post reminded me of the mate I had posted about: he made it out of ICU, missus sent me a pic. He is
gurning*smiling into the camera from his NHS bed, LH side of face all distorted, left eye looking somewhere else, but he made it and his SOH is back, so I know he stands a chance.*He won’t mind me saying that, I asked his missus to tell him to send me a pic without the gurning, she says he “sort of laughed” at that. Known each other a long time, since very small.

I'm out. Thanks for that Nolan. I was waiting for someone to come out with that one! Personally, I try not to upset Scousers, the last one I upset threw a felling axe at me. Really… Because I wouldn’t serve him any more booze. Huyton, 1970 IIRC.

I'm out.@ Bob: F&C/ No, just in general. There is more wild life around there and its like going back to the 80’s somehow.
Keith, the 80’s were not that bad, or so my son tells me. 🙄😏😁 Actually sometimes in Mablethorpe it feels like the 60’s or even the 50’s, but that’s my era so I’m OK with that! Lincolnshire people are laid back and relaxed, which is why it takes ages to get anything done, unless it’s farming*, fishing or engineering, which all works well here. But try to get a builder/plumber/electrician etc and you may have to wait.
*Currently avoiding lots of agricultural machinery on our roads this week, those guys are busy, busy, busy!

I'm out.Yep they are both OK thanks JayCeeDee and Ryan, but SIL is not, his lovely Mondeo is now being used by daughter to ferry her and granddaughter to work and school.
I am finding my feet (and fingers) in Windows 10. Have booted Ms Office and installed Open Office, as all my zillions of doc’s are in OO and I like it better. Also installed Firefox and elbowed both Edge and Cortana. What I can’t figure out is why “Programs & Features” has carried over from Windows 7 ‘as is’. Still works OK, but I thought 10 had another way of doing that? And I notice that the font here in Forumite Replies has changed to what looks like Times New Roman, or similar. Used to look like Arial. And the (“) and (@) keys are swapped around, which means I have to go into Devices and change the suddenly-altered US Keyboard back to UK. Ah well as long as I can read and type it, I’m doing well. Btw, I did not disconnect the spinner and it still has the data, pics and docs which will be another backup.
Guys my No.2 gson has asked how to get into Forumite, so he may be along at some point. He is quite dyslexic, so please try to give him a little leeway. Any problems, I can usually decipher what he means.

I'm out.Well I had a think after posting. Went to Windows 7/10 Forums (not used for a while), read and used the Tutorial, downloaded the latest 10 from there, installed Win 10 and it all went well. Spinner is recognised as H drive, all files returned, peripherals picked up. Just installed Firefox, coming back to it later. Chrimble shop today and dear daughter was subjected to the antics of a crazy driver yesterday on her way to work, her 15 yo Mazda a write off. Gd in car but no injuries thanks be! So some dad stuff to do, including taxi work and a shoulder if she needs it. Never rains but…

I'm out.I always get a manual for a mobo online from the manufacturers support pages, then increase the page size the page with Panel Connections, print it out and use that to connect. The diagrams in the Guide in the mobo box is always tiny.
