I had the vaccine last year for the first time JayCeeDee. Only about 5 months ago, so can’t say whether it worked or not yet. Certainly no after-effects. I know what Shingles is like, get it every few years. My painfull pimples turn into horrendous great scabs and I had enough: anything that helps get rid of that is good.
I started in the Army, with chickenpox at 20! Taken to Aldershot hospital, in an isolation ward. My mate Ron from Redditch laughed: “That’s a kids disease!” 3 days later he was in the next ward holding up cards “Going to kill you, Williams!”
Years later, out in Civvy Street, MOT testing local doctor’s Land Rover, asked him about the painfull pimples on my back. “Bend over the Headlamp Tester!” He was a personal friend as well as my Doc – “You have Shingles!” Had them off and on ever since, hate the buggas.

I'm out.My penultimate career was in Legal Services at a County Council HQ. I was retired on health grounds, which took them 14 months to decide: 14 months to add to the final payout (hello Council Tax). I loved the work, concerned with County Boundaries and Land purchases, it was very interesting and stimulated my brain at the time I had been out of work due to disability. But I seriously hated the place, the backbiting ethos and some of the people, who obviously thought of themselves as tinpot chiefs. The first (and last) to attempt to belittle me, paid the price of public humiliation and her colleagues realised that I cared nothing for their attitudes or their ‘position’. My refuge was to overstay at one of my tasks, which was taking the latest public newspaper ads to the Ads Pool. The place was full of black Nottingham lasses, the lasses were full of Nottingham humour and their coffee always hot. I really loved their company, they were a blue sky amongst miserable days.
Highways was on the same corridor and there were some very decent people there, but in Legal sevices there were some real plonkers.

I'm out. It’s just another place for Sky to hide from their responsibilities to customers, John. Another smoke and mirrors deal. Sky have a corporate responsibility taught by the Murdochs.

I'm out. Thanks guys, your good wishes mean a lot.
I am following Tippon‘s advice: I mean to kick its arse. Cheers, Ryan.
Richard, the disease is no respecter of youth. My nephew lost his wife at 26 to breast cancer. Sadly, he was taken himself at 51 by lung cancer. As I said to my consultant when he explained matters, I have seen many close family go with this, by not being caught in time. So cut the bugga out, please.
JB: my eldest niece was a staff nurse who had a double mastectomy in her Forties, survived, went back to nursing. Had a stroke in her late Fifties and she is still here, still kicking. Goes to every Forest match, screams her lungs out. I am glad that you sorted out bowel screening, keep an eye on stuff.
Lee, there is only one of me. Finding a replacement is not possible.?
Stay well guys: the alternative is an unknown journey to who knows where. I want to be reincarnated as a Crow, flying over certain people coming in and out of Westminster and depositing substances upon their persons.???
Off again in 30 minutes for the pre-assessment.

I'm out. Thanks Nolan. I don’t know exactly what may be left of my innards after April, I have left bits in several hospitals. Maybe I will have a bit more storage space.???

I'm out.Don’t know about the Ignis Nolan, but most cars with that ‘stop start’ carp have a facility to turn it off. I know my Tucson has that feature, read it in the handbook, but I have actually got used to it. On a hill it flashes up a message that it is not available, which makes sense.

I'm out.Dave, I don’t have Win10, still happily using 7. I know I will have to use 10 soon, but other matters are more pressing.

I'm out.You guys don’t know my town: as I have said, narrow streets, but the Town Planner must have been severely off his face, the One way system is not systematic and drives strangers crazy, you can see them circling the town 3 or 4 times, asking directions. Rule of thumb: never ask anyone under 60 for directions here.)
On market days, the town is packed with locals from the town and surrounding villages trying to shop, with visitors rubbernecking and stepping into the road. Traffic is bumper to bumper, circling the town trying to find parking spaces. People are diving between cars, trucks and buses wherever and whenever they feel like it. We console ourselves with the fact that the other Wolds town, Horncastle, is worse.
Most market days, it is easier for me to drive 20+ miles to Grimsby.

I'm out.We don’t need snow in Louth to see trucks get stuck. Occasionally truckers who are new to Louth will follow a Satnav and get stuck around one of our narrow streets. We have experienced stalled traffic lasting half a day and more. Many are foreign drivers, but there are many from the Netherlands and I have never seen one of them get stuck. I think they must advise each other. Complicated by LHDrive trucks of course.

I'm out.Don’t have one of these gizmos, don’t want one. My gson’s company apparently also discovered this. They have a big contract with a national resort entertainment chain and could not initially find a problem. Traced it to the CEO’s wife using Cortana. Gson advised me that this flaw is not restricted to Cortana: all such devices might be susceptible.
‘Oh good’ was my thought, ‘something else to worry about, for those who have them’.

I'm out.Big fat drops of very cold rain here atm. In 45 min’s I have to drive up to Beverley (E. Yorks) for a medical appointment. This is The Big One which will tell me if the lump on my Pancreas is evil or not.
Don’t panic Lee, I’ve got my new passport and innoculations are up to date. I am safe, but I can’t find my English – Yorkshire phrase book. ??

It was great to see and hear that again, many thanks. I once had a Blaster’s cassette, but wore it out. I will have to find some of his work again. Totally non-PC, absolutely misogynistic, xenophobic, no Equality or Diversity: and very, very, funny. Humour from a different time. One personal favourite is the one based in Hanley, Stoke: in a department store, a large lady trying to be manouevered into a corset. No result, until Blaster blows up something in the cellar. Another is the one based around blowing up tree stumps in a crematorium.
Not for the PC Brigade.

I'm out. They bored the pants off me, what a miserable way to go out. Mourinho is not using the talent he has at his disposal. Seen some poor United teams in the past, but never ever seen one that did not at least try to play football. I don’t think the Special One will be at Old Trafford next season. Another massive payout for the Boring One. He makes a career out of having careers! On a par with failed Bankers who ruin finacial centres and depart with a Golden Handshake.
There is only one team in MancLand playing proper football.

I'm out.He will be regarded as one of the finest minds to come from Britain, if not the finest. He will also be noted for his sense of fun and dry humour: appearing on The Simpsons, Sheldon of the Big Bang theory saying “It is an honour to meet you” and Sir Stephen saying “I know.”

After Doddy passing yesterday, there ought to be some fun & games Up There. You can’t really mourn for these guys, you can only celebrate the time we had them with us.

I'm out.Tillerson sacked by the Trumper’s favourite communications media: a Tweet. And Tillerson does not have a Twitter account.
Want to know how bad Tillerson’s replacement is going to be? –
He was CIA Director. Read his typical CIA past moves, the guy is made from the same Psycho Republican mould as most of the Trumper’s associates, but is worse than any of them. If you thought the world situation was bad atm, I fear we ain’t seen noting yet.

Not all necessarily used on every occasion.
