Amazingly I’ve never seen the Bore, just never got around to it.

You are not the only one Dave ?

I have lived my whole life (in 5 houses, all within a mile of the Severn [both east and west banks]) and have also never seen it.

I well remember when I lived in Elmore Lane, Quedgeley, being trapped in the house for 5 hours at a time when there were Saturday morning Bores, as the spectators literally blocked the road, parking on both sides and in the middle of the road, blocking us in from 8.00 to lunch time.  That is probably what has failed to create any interest in it for me.

              Well, I tried it.

Dave will do well – tons of offers in Bristol.

Only one offer within 20 miles of me – and that is a good 30 minutes/10 miles away in Monmouth.

“Artisan” – won’t be of any use to me ?

We have no specialist butchers, bakers, fishmongers, greengrocers or the like within a 10 mile radius – only a small Tesco and a Co-op.

Vactric – makers of vacuum cleaners (who Dad worked for in mid-50’s as a service engineer covering South Wales) – long since vanished.

Camp – the “coffee” that my dad used to drink. He picked up the habit when out in India in WW2.

                    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Coffee

It was foul tasting to a 4/5 year old when he insisted I try it.

I’ve had a couple of calls too. It is supposedly caused by driver incompatibility between the WiFi adapter and Windows. Disable then re-enabling them in Device Manager and re-installing the drivers seems to have fixed these 2 calls.

I have just checked and Settings\Windows Update tells me I’m up to date. Confusingly winver tells me I’m on Version 1809 ( OS Build 17758.1 ) which on checking Update History I find it was installed 15/09/20108.

                        The latest 1809 is June 18, 2019—KB4501371 (OS Build 17763.592) https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4501371

Your OS Build 17758.1 is still Insider ???

                          John,

I just got the same message with my 3 year old laptop (i5, 240SSD, 12Gb RAM) which is the most modern rig I have.

Surprisingly, my ancient 11 year old Dual Core E8500 with a 160 spinner and 4GB  was offered the full 1903 upgrade 10 days ago.

Both are currently running the latest version of 1809.

Done one with a DVD ISO from the Creation Tool and another by their standard download/install method.

                              Both have been fine.

                                  Dave,

must admit I still dislike the W10 menu. Searching works well, I just don’t like it. I have important stuff pinned to the start menu and/or task bar – but the absence of any text in the start menu (just icons) still grates…..don’t like it….never will….but can work round it/tolerate it.

                                      anyone remember the Water Margin?

                                      Brilliant series ?

Hu San-niang -she with the 2 swords was my favourite.  Oh and Shih Chin — the Tattooed Dragon.

I just found out that Peng Liyuan (wife of the current head of China, Xi Jinping) sang the ending theme song of the last 13 episodes.

Only just realised you are using a socket 775 motherboard for this new build.

If so, what CPU does it have ? – I have a good selection if they are better than what it is currently running ?

I got these electrical screws for this job as they are the perfect thickness but I can’t find any nuts for them. Any of you know what nuts go on those electrical screws? There are some M3.5 nuts online but it doesn’t say anything about the thread. Any ideas?

                                            M3.5 is the thread.

If those screws are M3.5 the nuts will be fine.
