Definitely the M3 corridor – it is so easy to get to Bournemouth that way.  Ridiculous parking too !

IMHO they should have impounded the cars of all those getting parking fines there today and made them walk home.

I’d love to buy some of this cheap fuel, but it is 95% full – it has only done 20 miles since I filled it just after her TIA.

It has been stood on pumped up tyres/hand brake off/in gear/ chocked wheels with the battery disconnected and trickle charged in the garage.

The MOT on Mrs B’s Note was due to expire on 29th June. Checked today and it has been extended to 29th December :). She has not actually driven it since 24th January (when she had a TIA) and when the doc said she was able to drive again in mid March along came Lockdown.  I have not put any fuel in it since January, and it has only done 200 miles in 2020 :good:

This has just reminded me that just as this close down happened I sent the paperwork to the DVLA for a 10 year licence renewal. Ive never heard back off them and they haven’t taken the money out of my account. I put it down the covid situation, bit I may just update it on line on Monday. Given my licence has been out of date for two months. It did day on the paper work if you send this off and the old lapses before the new one arrives back don’t worry. But it’s been a good while now.

Read this – it may explain things ? https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/1298057/martin-lewis-money-show-dvla-photo-licence-renewal-driving-fine

The DVLA has recently announced an extension for some motorists.  Motorists whose image expired between February 1 and August 31 will be entitled to an automatic extension for seven months.

Interesting article about this that I found earlier tonight :-

Don’t forget, the whole slavery concept goes way back thousands of years – e.g. the Roman Empire couldn’t work without slaves.

There are statues of Roman Emperors Trajan in London on Tower Hill, Constantine in York and a whole clutch in the baths at Bath that I know of – presumably they all have to go as well ?

My situation is that my MoT expired 14th April this year and I’m under the rules of the extension. I’ve just checked HERE and my car is shown as MoT’d until 14th October 2020. Put your Reg No in this web page and you’ll see when your latest one expires.

It only shows the 6 month extended date if your car has actually gone past its normal MOT due date. I have checked 4 cars (all of which have an MOT due this or next month) and all show the original (not extended) expiry date.

I’ve been out of everything for the last three months – far too many reasons to go into details.

I’m back, hopefully, and just done a one-off PayPal.

Now you have upgraded W7 to 10 the pc will now have a W10 licence attached to the mobo.

Do a clean install of W10 and completley remove W7 for ever.

Step three is to continue the search for a pair of suitable 2GB memory sticks Hope that helps

What speed of RAM is it ?

Replacing 1 x 4GB with 2 x GB sticks should make only a marginal improvement, taking it into dual-channel mode. 2 x 4GB should improve things more.

You do not say if it is 32 or 64 bit Win 10 ?

If it doesn’t have an SSD for the boot C drive, then fitting one would make a lot of difference.

I remember learning COBOL 74 way back in the early-70s when as a trainee accountant I was seconded to our IT department for 12 months because of the results of an aptitude test all the trainees had to do.

I can recall very little of it now, even though I wrote a couple of programs that were still being used 15 years later.

The loudest band I ever heard was Argent on 5th December 1974 at Cheltenham Town Hall on their “Quadrophonic Tour”.

It was indescribable – at times you got just white noise in quadrophonic sound – as they hadn’t got the amps set up properly.

Your eardrums quivered ! Even outside the building.
