Yes drop down is still there until I have placed the buttons everywhere they need to be, probably another day or less. I am working on some PM ideas as I speak or type 🙂

Yes the buttons had you in mind. I don’t think there is much I can do about you being booted out but I’ll have a think.

• Search sort of fixed for now.
• Add navigation buttons above forum.

As you can see some new buttons have appeared above the forum. These are to replace the the drop down buttons from the main menu which take up space on the Mobile with a long scroll and just look poor in general. :negative:

I can not say I have noticed but I would not expect it to change if clicking the back button TBH. I’ll be doing away with the envelopes any time now and will be opting for two distinct colours instead. Why you ask :yahoo: One of my Mobile friendly changes :bye:

I believe I have fixed the HTML tag problems but please give it a go from your accounts with your user privileges.

The problem is when people hit the return button or search icon it goes off and searches the blog posts of the site. When searching, the drop down list is the forum results. I have now disabled this behavior and you should only get forum results now and hitting return will only display the drop down results if it does not automatically do so.

The search setting in the back-end are complex to say the least and I don’t fully understand all the fiddly bits yet. As with a few things when building this place I have to learn by doing and this is why the title of the site still says “Work in progress”.

I appreciate the feedback though. Just need to grow an extra pair of hands :yes:

Yes, cpu shot-up at 5 ish so ill take a look at that but bar that its behaved since yesterday and back to normal now. Seems to happen at the time and lasts for 20 minutes so its a schedule I am missing.

They came from ohbother due to me re-installing the database. Will only happen when I break ohbother and I should not be doing that for a while. :whistle:  :whistle:

I never get into these conversations as politics baffle me and I have very little interest in them. But my question is: Could she not actually be hoping to get out before it hits the fan with N.Korea and Trumpet? Maybe she does not want to be the next Churchill. Maybe 🙂 As I said though, I am politically Ignorant.

Yes, appreciated. I do use home servers when building when there is just a couple of connection for people to view a site before going live but I only have about 3mb’s up and 17 down as I have not really ever needed any more. I am with plusnet and want to stop with them as I think there great but the fastest up I can get with them is 20 and I just don’t think that will do it.

The forum runs on a dedicated server some were down south in an high end data center “Gloucester if I remember correctly” . Granted, it would make my life easier if I had a fast connection and could run the server in my kitchen cupboard or my garden shed data center :yahoo: .

Nope. I think it is 3 problems. 1. A cron job running every few minutes “Now set for 23.00 and 9.00” 2. Awstats updating it’s statistics, this will explain the 5 – 6 pm slowdown. This is now removed as I don’t use it. And finally 3. Not sure yet or even if it exists but I think I still need to disable a few more services introduced by webmin/virtualmin.

Saying all the above I do think I’ll have to go for a better CPU at some point but I will drag this out as far as I can for now!

Seems better for now but I have my monitor open to keep an eye on live cpu usage “Memory and Disk use as always been fine”.

I have changed a few server settings to see if things speed up today but I’ll just have to see how it goes day by day.

I think I’ll have a tinker tomorrow aft so there will be down time and possible screw ups if your in the middle of composing a post, Ill let forumites know when I am done.

Not that I know what the issue is yet! Could be the little hamsters :wacko:
