I have to think Tablet, Mobile and Desktop even though I think there is only sgb using the forum on the mobile, Its a fine balance and I am trying to keep it some what tidy on all devices.

As mentioned before John the forum is not ready for the onslaught of your signature images. I may run a test with an image in my sig to see what it looks like on mobiles but I dont hold much hope.

Few more changes

• Added BBC RSS feed to right sidebar. This is tabbed to allow different feeds from different sections of the BBC. No pictures :good: I stuck with the BBC because there rules on using RSS feeds are simple but I do have space for a few more tabs/feeds so if forumites want to suggest a couple more let me know.
• Added some social sharing buttons at the top of the right side bar. These will share the current post/page/topic/forum/planet you are currently on. Please Share! :good:

Did it work for you? Did not work in FF for me but did in chrome. FF has adblock and chrome does not.

@edps I have put a few thing in place to cure the back/forward or leave the page and come back to a part completed reply or post. It simply works for some and not others so its a browser issue for now. Give it a go, you may be lucky :good:

OK, so an update. I will start the new subscription model on the 25th June “Next Month” so I suggest no more donations until then or you will end up paying twice. I am going to create more info on the subject shortly but thought best I get this in there before anything else. :good:

When I do bring the new system in shortly all paypal subscriptions will have to be cancelled. :negative: The reason being Paypal will be directly talking to my subscription system I do not want it be getting into an habit of me marking people as paid, it’s a nightmare and I have to do it with a few on my hosting site prior to a domain change, I hate it, especially if I forget.

On an other note the heavens have opened up here, it’s wonderful :yahoo:

I think after further thought the subscription idea I’m my previous post may be the best route and judging by past donations I’ll set it at about £3.50 pm. If any one has issues with this let me know either here or via PM. I may also as my previous post suggests add a forumite email option so rather than paying £3.50 it would be £5.50. These are just ideas at the moment but a plan none the less.

I will have to make the site pay one way or the other and that is no more apparent than this weekend when I have just paid out for all my hosting and subscriptions which means a long boring bank holiday again. Mind, I have put plenty on my electric to allow good use of my Air Con which is a god send when I am stuck in front of my PC in this weather.

Regarding ads on the site! Yes there is plenty of real estate to right. I no doubt will put an add/link to the forumite hosting when ready and depending on what’s left there may be a couple of classifieds from the classifieds area. There will be no external ads here and hopefully not the rest of the site excluding the classifieds if a business places a classified which is hardly the same.

Now, this section may upset some!

I appreciate the donations but I found they died of apart from the ones who created a subscription so that’s about 3 this month with an estimate of £12 although it could be a bit more. I can not stress enough how much I appreciate this but I think people will agree and understand why I want to get the site paying for its self through hosting plans, maybe classifieds etc or any other ideas or features I can come up with. I think the donations have died off simple because people forget and I have hardly pushed the fact as there is only one little yellow button at the bottom of the site.

One idea that I have been mulling over is make the site subscription based. I would work it in a way that even if you did not pay your subscription you could still use the site as normal but would simply get a reminder. How ever if this is going to upset people then it will not be done so I will need peoples feedback on this point.

Finally, if there any ideas forumites can come up with such as features or services that I can add that members would be will to subscribe to do let me know.

I did think about selling forumite unique email addresses, for example rsb@forumite.co.uk but I am not sure if anyone would be interested or the price to charge.

Any how, I am getting warm and flustered now so Ill finish with – What ever happens the site will be here for years to come one way or the other with no loud ads :yahoo:
