Yes I believe it was that one, 3 toll booths on it I believe. We traveled for about 15 minutes after that bridge and was at our destination. My father does something like webuyanycar.com but motorbikes instead so to get out of the front of the computer at the weekend we will go and pick a few up our self if people are selling. Being summer it’s not that many. Get around all sorts of places. Was in Nottingham this week, must of picked a real ruff spot, I was not expecting it. I always thought it was country side and farmers but is was just people on the street with special brew and god knows what else.

I have been down your way a few times over the past couple week.Can not remember exactly where but had to pay 60p at a toll bridge that can not of been more than 6 metres wide 🙂 Would of been 40p but was in a van. Nice country roads though, obviously not as good as Yorkshire’s country side but close 🙂

Just an idea. Have you got the option of going over the Max headphone volume “Boost I think” in the sounds control pannel. If not try and search google to enable it. I use it often in windows and linux to.

I have spent a couple of days using the SDR software and dongle now. I built my self a simple AM Loop arial about 16″ square. Not the best but doing the job untill I ethier buy a better one or build something more complex. Can pick up 118 mhz to 135 mhz upto atleast 40 mile away and maybe even further if I do more research to see what is comeing from were.

In your shoe’s I would be sticking with wordpress. Not sure if there is already a site that you plan on managing and if that’s the case you will need to see what software was used. If you are rebuilding then just go with wordpress. A couple of things to help you build quicker with wordpress is to buy a professional theme and I would also recommend visual builder for wordpress although you may get it with a theme.

As far as back-up is concerned I use wpbackup.

I could go on and there is much that can be done with WP but things are only a search away to solve a problem.

I think if it’s ok i’ll take @ricedg and @drezha up on there offer. I do back up to my own ftp server at home but I am always moving things round and tinkering and I am forever setting up ftp servers. Also it would be I good idea to spread the back-ups around a little. I can set a back-up schedule to suit your times for bandwhith usage.

The back-up is about 2.5 gig at the moment. To answer @sgb101 images are squashed on upload sometimes but not to a point where they look rubish.

When and if you are ok to go ahead PM me with the FTP details and I’ll run a test back-up. Keep in mind that transfering a back-up of 2.5 G via FTP takes a while, It’s not the fastest means of transport ?

I used SDR# for the reason of a quick and simple install on windows but when some arial bits come tommorow i’ll go over to linux I think. Plus, I have an extra few tv tuners if nothing works out. ?

@edps These are the sticks that I bought. They seem to be doing there job but obviously I need better arial bits n bobs that are comeing tommorow and then I can see what can be done. What ever happens it will be intresting just reading up and tinkering. Only spent an hour with it last night on the small poor provided arial and there is some strange sounds out there 🙂

Reading up on it you can go into maplins etc.. and buy hand held legally and it is not illegal to own the equipment it’s just illegal to listen ? Keep in mind though it can be used to pick up legal cb, and amiture cb radio  which is off course what Ill be intending.

I thought I would just use this thread. I have been having a lazy hour browsing the net and thought I would search for what had happened on my birthday over the years and according to this the first linux kernel was released to the internet. Maybe he knew my birthdate and thought how about I create a sometimes infuriating o/s to ruin is life. ?

I could of named it DVB – T May’a’ ? Anyhow, kodi as been in the store for a while. The problem is my windows “genuine ” media center remote is easier to get working on linux than it is windows with kodi ?. I have just for now stuck the tv server in  a cupboard, out of site out of mind. There is not much to attack in my house, I do a good job of that my self. Nothing stored localy and only use gimp, ff, tbird, kodi localy. Nothing else including building this place. A bit of A/V takes care of the rest but again, I download next to nowt. Ill save some pennies, get some sff pc’s and and some dvb cards that work with modern distros, Eventualy or Look at @edps possible xbox solution.
