You don’t need much at all. A bit of clingfilm over some pots will do as good as a propagator in the warmth of a house should you be able to afford warmth nowadays.

No, I would not put my name to them. There are Amazon basics. They look ok but I have had to strengthen them here and there. I have just tried to keep it simple in this house so it’s easy to keep on top of.

I would appreciate them both. I have a few little hobby projects on the go. I have just purchased one of these as my current set up did not reach a high enough frequency.

I bought a pc the other week for spares/repairs from cash converters for £15 and just turned out to be a screwed up windows install. Plan is that I use that for a general desktop workstation as my laptop powers it’s self down every two minutes. Mind, I have had my moneys worth out of it. The pc from CC was up for initially £169 👍

 

Apart from SDR I am also liking a bit of retro gaming which is not hardware intensive.

 

so please yes to bothe  if that’s ok. Just send me your bills and I’ll send what I owe back.

I Will do but it appears to be throwing a tantrum with me too. I am on mobile broadband still and it’s crap. I have to get a new line fitted to the house so it’s a £70 installation and the coffers will not allow that at the moment so I’ll sort it when I am back online properly.

I have spent a few days trying to think of what to say but I am still at a loss. I remember back in the MM days starting off on the wrong foot with him but it did not take long to get past that. I’ll certainly miss the jibes and digs we gave each other from across the borders and sadly I will get the last word on which is best “It’s Yorkshire Bob”. I spoke with him a few times on the phone and found him to be as genuine in real life as he was on here. I found he was one of the only ones who agreed with me on many subjects “Obviously not all”.

I am privileged to have known Bob and I know the forum will never be the same without him but I am also happy that there will always be a little of himself here.

R.I.P Bob, You’ll be missed a great deal.

Thanks all. It all went surprisingly smooth. I think I have been here two weeks now. No problems so far, plenty to explore. There was the first week of “flat-pack hell” as I like to call it. Anyway, once I gather my thoughts I’ll update you all.
