Never heard of Sugru but it looks very useful. I will try and get some and try it.

A bodge joint in co-ax will always degrade the signal as it will present a different impedance to the signal resulting in reflections etc. If you are receiving a strong signal this might not be apparent but weak ones are likely to be distorted.

I agree with the advice already given, do a proper job and it will last.

I bought one for the village hall accounts which I do. These are not the most modern looking or light machines but are pretty reliable. The refurbished machine quality is fine.

                  Hi Dave

What you describe is exactly what I found and I did leave the wires long and pulled out the twists. You must have the knack.

I used normal wire cutters to trim of the ends and it was fine.

These are the ones I use and getting the correct length is easy by snipping off the the insert exit. Can’t get crossed colours either so no hoping  it comes out right.

I tried the pass though type and found them to be more difficult to use than the type which uses an insert. The wires never seem to come through in the right order so had to pull out and try again. Eventually I gave up. Maybe I’m missing something, if so could someone enlighten me.

No you don’t need a new crimp tool. The old one works just as well.

Thanks for that. It could be a cause for worry I suppose. I subscribe to Lastpass so will look carefully before renewing. I think there is plenty of time according to the press article.

The Wall is semi autobiographical on Roger Waters, who wrote it. His father was killed in the war and he went into his shell.

                              Hi David

I always use an offline account. I have no need of one as I back up everything I really need to a NAS box and Onedrive.

Good article though and I have printed it off for use when I do another clean install sometime in the future

I think the version of the downloader in the link is a pretty old one. The latest version can be found at

                                http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/microsoft_windows_iso_download_tool.html

This gives you the option of several earlier versions of Win 10

All it proved to me was that the people who don’t wan’t to leave under any circumstance still think the same.

To be fair that also applies to the Leavers.

Regarding Ken Clarke. When asked about a month ago if he would be willing he did say he would do it. The other suggestion at the time was Harriet Harman but I am sure there are other MPs who could fill the bill.
