I fear my mobile number is now out in the wild.
I have been getting 0330 calls. Google reveals them as ppi / scam / sales liars.
How do I block them?
I don’t think my ‘phone (Galaxy Ace 4) has this built in.
Any program (like totally app) suggestions?
Please remember I am a ‘phone biff and hater.
Edit: I was using Steve’s keyboard. ?

“read calendar events plus confidential information.”
The permissions list is a joke.

If you don’t have the option to choose permissions then it’s a non starter.

June 24, 2017 at 12:05 am #9420Install True caller app, it’s basically a phone and sms spam filter. It does other stuff too, but I just use it for that.
Most of the know numbers will never get to your phone. you’ll be notified that someone tried to call, so if it’s a mistake you can white-list them. Any new spam lines that do get through you can one press block them. If enough users block a number, it then gets put on the True caller auto blocked list.
It’s a good app. And free. You can pay, but the adds are very un intrusive, and they want £3pm to get rid of the un intrusive adds.
It use to be about £5 to get rid of the adds, which I would of happily paid. But not a subscription. The reason I didn’t true caller (with out adds) was backed into cyanogenmod, and I could never see myself moving from it. Rip cm.
June 24, 2017 at 12:16 am #9421I see pm already recommended tc, but you have worries over what permissions they need and why.
Here is their answer to what they need and why.
Also most phones now will let you install app then let you toggle with the granted permissions. Again CM was the best at this, you could crated a sandbox to keep “suspicious” apps in. They stripped most of that feature out, for the phones that shipped with CM installed, but it was still in cm rom when you download it. Reason being the way cm had privacy gard set up, no carrier would let them on their network. For the simple reason the carrier wants a back door in to all phones. All of them. The cm rom made this very hard for them, so they had to scale their privacy guard down for thier offical releases.
That was 4 years ago they implemented this, both ios and Android has taken steps towards this, but even they have to play to the tune of the networks.
