As you may notice in the footer of the site there is a new Birthday announcement. It’s not my birthday although I have just had a bath :yahoo: It’s only a bit of fun and to add a bit of normality to the place and maybe put a smile on a face once every now and then. Your not forced to add your date of birth but you can add it in your profile.

No need to be accurate, set it a day in front or behind and what ever year you like. :good:

Talking about ‘time flying’ – I remember as a kid in the 50s or so, on Xmas seeing a friend with a present I wanted and would ‘ask Santa for next Xmas’ the delay seemed like a lifetime away.

Today just washed up after Xmas dinner and it’s time to think about buying the turkey for the next one.

Why is 52 weeks as a kid sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long and 52 weeks as an adult soooooo short? :scratch: :scratch:

Just added mine. Before anyone says so, yes I’m 72 and still here and it reads 2/3/45. But I’m 18 above the eyebrows and between the ears, the rest refuses to keep pace.

I was born in ’42 but as I cannot lay legitimate claim to my favourite pi-day birthday 3/1/42, I think I’ll just go for 22 years back from today – old enough to have most of the years of study behind me and young enough to be completely irresponsible.

The answer is scale and perspective.

If your 1 yo, Xmas is a hole year away. Or rather another whole life away

When you your 50, your have 50 years behind you, so the one year to exams, is just a short promotion of your life. I it’d just 1/50th of your whole life.

And so on. The year gets smaller as out life (perspective) gets larger.

I thought I would just use this thread. I have been having a lazy hour browsing the net and thought I would search for what had happened on my birthday over the years and according to this the first linux kernel was released to the internet. Maybe he knew my birthdate and thought how about I create a sometimes infuriating o/s to ruin is life. ?
