I was just having lunch when a text arrived from +44 7761 340789 saying:

Amazon: Your account has been flagged due to an unauthorised  sign-in attempt. If this was not you verify via: https://amazon-officialuk.com

DO NOT visit this site! It is quite a sophisticated scam as they have actually managed to hack Google to imply that the site belongs to Amazon – it does not. A whois shows it was registered yesterday to nicenic.net.

I was VERY nearly caught – the timing caused me to rush and I shared my address and amazon log-in. It was only when the site asked for bank details that I twigged, logged off and immediately reported it to Amazon and changed my password, Amazon access etc.

Beware of this one – the site is an Amazon clone.

Chrome blocked access, it’s flagged as a phising site.

        Probably won’t last long.

Probably not, but the scammers just register a new site. If you search on-line for Amazon scams there have been a rash lately. A search shows half a dozen different sites all with a similar message.

e.g.“Amazon: We detected a login into your account from a new device on 27/09/2022 at 15:10:08 UTC. If this wasn’t you, you can terminate that session via: [https://checkup-amazon.com].”

The “Amazon:” seems to be a common opener.

Please report attempts to Amazon, and if necessary use a PC or similar to change passwords etc.
