Talk about ‘Pie in the Sky’ stuff, staff at Cornell University have proposed a method whereby the mass of the sun could be used as a gravitational lens that would enable a space-based telescope to image city-sized objects on alien worlds!

I love that people think about this kind of thing and come up with possible solutions.

OFC there are far more relevant things going on right now that huge brains could be better used to help with.

The astrophysicists that I’ve met are on a different plane of one-track ‘Star Trek’ existence. Getting practical stuff out of such people would be an impossible task.
