I think I cancelled it? however it says it has only cancelled renewal and is saying I have the remainder of my current subscription.

You should be alright John as you cancelled straight away.

From section 8 of the T&Cs over here

To terminate Your membership, Your subscription must be canceled at least 7 days prior to the end of the current term (or within Your trial period in the case of trial membership). Certain features are available to upgraded or converted members only.

If your not happy still contact your credit card provider, explain what happened and get them to block further charges from them.

            Thanks PM

I used your advice and contacted, they said if they take a payment they would request return and stop any future payments. On the basis they can’t charge for a service not used by myself?

            Cheers
            John
