It shouldnt as you have a decent window to fix posts.

I think if your adding info you should double post anyhow, as if you alter an origanal post, most people won’t see it, as they won’t know you have added, as they wont be notified. So if no one’s sees what you write, what’s the point of writing it?

So double posting is fine. Actually should be preferred.

Plus we haven’t seen an outbreak of DP and the edit setup had been in place a while.

Personally I hate it when people go back  and edit or delete statements to fit their narrative. Even with the ability to mass edit and change post meaning I never did, even when I looked back and thought I shouldn’t of said that etc.

I hate noting more than seeing on sites, that people have altered what they said. It’s easy to spot as the replies at first don’t make sense. But you can spot that the poster had got embarrassed or changed their mind and altered it. Instead of having some stones, and simply saying “I was wrong sorry” further down.

15-30 mins is long enough for most people check their spelling etc. So it shouldn’t be an issue.

I say most as as a dyslexic, I cant see my mistakes when I proof them, as I read it how I think I wrote it and not as I wrote it. When I come back an hour later most of the mistakes jump out then, but not at first.

So if anyone should be annoyed about a short window, it should be the likes of me. But I’ll put my principles over personal embarrassment every time.

One thing I hated about mm, and not sure if it can be done here,  is when  someone opened a new thread, the deleted it after replies had been added. I think delete privilege  should be revoked the second a reply is added.

I think I’ve seen a Delete before. I’ll give it a try by posting a “TEST” post in this topic and then see if I can delete it.

I just wish I used my own advice; compose in a word processor of choice, check the readability and leave it for a few moments to mature.

Then copy and paste only when you are good and ready.

Put the work up on a website or send an e-mail, walk away for two minutes, return and read it through,. Not only you but half the world will know just how much you got it wrong.
