Finally found one for a price I was willing to pay.
£92.50 delivered as new, looks unused.
I’m impressed with it so far, not had much chance to play with it due to updates being needed and a doctors appointment. It’s charging now.
Viewing on a phone or tablet is much better than desktop/laptop, VR/Google cardboard even better. On PC drag the image/video around, phone/tablet/VR move the device but you can drag it if you like.
Edit, YouTube has ruined the quality. :negative:
April 19, 2017 at 6:46 pm #6460I am impressed – take it that is a G5 add-on module. I don’t need one but I want one!
April 19, 2017 at 7:00 pm #6462It should work with any decent Android device, needs 5.0 or better, IIRC. It was /is one of the G5 ‘friends’ add ons though.
Forgot to mention it was from CEX.
April 23, 2017 at 5:24 pm #6682Did a quick run on the fat bike with the 360 Cam on my crash hat, it was early morning, just after sunrise. I’m happy with the result as the light was affected due to the bushes.
I’d never do the run full pelt at ‘normal’ times, there might be people about.
Anyway, OFC YouTube has mullered the footage a lot (might try Vimeo soon) but I’d appreciate feedback regarding how it plays on your devices.

As you say, the quality’s not great, but it works fine in Chrome, and on the OnePlus One :good:
April 23, 2017 at 8:28 pm #6690Yeah its pretty blocky but not unwatchable on YouTube. I’m really interested in one of these things…still £90 at CEX….I’m going back to Russia (WW3 permitting) later this year with Jnr2 (and maybe Jnr1) to participate in the yearly battlefield excavations outside Volgograd (Stalingrad). This seems ideal to capture some of that.
Reviews I’ve read have suggested it seems a bit flimsy – be interested and grateful if you could give a review or overview of it if you have a chance – won’t be offended at all if not.
Cheers
April 23, 2017 at 9:03 pm #6692Thanks both.
BL, I’ll do an update tomorrow, with luck. If not soon.

Top man – appreciate it
April 24, 2017 at 4:05 pm #6715Now I’ve had more time to play with the 360 Cam (and software) I’m even more impressed. It’s not perfect but for the money it’s unbeatable.
To me it seems to be well built, yest it’s plastic, apart from the standard 1/4″ tripod attachment, but unless you’re a total klutz or really unlucky I can’t see there being any issues with build quality.
I got a case for it from Amazon but I didn’t pay full attention to the photos so missed the fact that’s it’s huge, so it’s going back. I also got a mini tripod for it, which is really good, grips things really securely.
Transferring files from it over WiFi is slow. This is necessary with the video files as they are stitched together in the camera, if you don’t have editing software which can deal with 360 videos properly they come out as flat videos if you copy them of the SD. With the photos you can just copy them off the SD card, Google photos recognizes them as 360 photos.
The LG 360 Cam viewer for PC is OK but dog slow for viewing videos. The free Go Pro VR Player is much better.
I’ve also found a very handy app, that lets you do basic editing and also make Little Planet videos for Instagram and the like. Instagram doesn’t do 360 videos or photos yet so this is the next best option for it. An example is here.
The WiFi control of the camera is generally very good, it prefers my G5 to my Z2, for some reason the signal isn’t always strong enough to get a live preview on the Z2, the actual controls work fine though. Of course physical obstructions affect the signal range, in open ground I had a preview about 30m away on my G5. The LG Cam manager app won’t see any 360 media unless they are in the location the app stores them in, not sure about the Theta one yet, I’ll test it later.
I think that’s about it for now, any more info needed let me know. :good:
April 24, 2017 at 4:57 pm #6718What about a picky of Tiger bay.
Does make you wonder about file size with these new cameras, especially if they like have a full size sensor and shoot in RAW.

I can do that, next time I’m down there. Don’t go that way often but the wetlands are a prime candidate for the camera.
April 24, 2017 at 9:17 pm #6737That’s really helpful info PM – much appreciated. I will probably bite – CEX looks the best deal still. Cheers for taking the time.
April 24, 2017 at 9:37 pm #6738PM – ordered one – out of interest how was it fixed/attached on that cycling video – ta.
April 25, 2017 at 9:05 am #6753I used the mount that came with my Drift Stealth 2 helmet camera, it uses the same 1/4″ tripod thread.
April 25, 2017 at 9:20 am #6754Ah makes sense – was hoping for a picture of duct tape and velcro 🙂
Pretty practical looking fixing that. My camera should be here in a few days – I ordered that tripod too – but silly sod that I am have got it delivered to my son’s university digs instead of here…..and he is here at the moment so might be a while before i get the tripod.
Mounting it on a hat makes sense, I’ll have to have a play with what I can do walking around in the summer.
May 7, 2017 at 10:36 am #7053What about a picky of Tiger bay.
Here you go.
May 7, 2017 at 12:01 pm #7058He he pretty teriffic.
Thats you surreptitiouly hiding behind the bar of soap (Life Boy).
The grid is looking sharp especially the seat.
Just had a silly thought a 360 photo from the center of the weird round about in SPLOT.
Oh, By the way, remember tiger bay features in the pop song, hit me with your rhythm stick. :good:
May 7, 2017 at 12:18 pm #7062I have mine now and have had a little play – I’m very impressed. I got a monopod from Amazon (with a spike on the bottom which holds it fine (since the camera is so small and light). I’m still looking for a mobile hat solution, trouble is it would ideally go right on top of your head, some sort of German WW1 helmet with a 3/4″ mnount on top of the spike would be ideal.
Looking at the cost of other devices I think these are good value and for the right circumstances a great way to capture a location.

The Magic Roundabout, as it’s known.
If I’m up early enough next Sunday I’ll get one.
May 7, 2017 at 2:50 pm #7068Not 360 related, but didn’t think it warranted it’s own thread.
Last night around midnight I was on my way out and I noticed the bates hunting around a street lamp. So thought I’d try and shoot them at 240fps slow mo. Given shooting like this you loose alot of light I didn’t think the phone would have a chance, but I was quite pleased at what it picked up.
Given its 240fps, the 20 second (real time) video is much longer. There is two bat’s, one at the beginning and one at the end. So scrub through the middle.
