So what is use guys take on optain options, being ssd and dimms or both.

Is it worth getting excited about.

Or more of the same carp like ready boost.

The dimms side of it has me somewhat confused, none volatile ram sound terrific but is it anywhere near as fast as DDR.

LTT have a video testing it out and they seem to think it works well. It took boot and load times down by about 60-70%

Though tbh boot times are hardly an issue today. But they modules seem very cheap for the added performance.

If u had the newer chip set that supports it, I’d probably get one, just because.

Their video was about 4 days ago, make it easier for you to search out

The 3D Xpoint DIMMs sit between “real” RAM and the SSD. They’re faster than an SSD but slower than normal RAM. In short, they’re a cache. From what I hear, they work very well and can make a worthwhile upgrade.

All a bit vague out there at the mo. it will be good to see some benching.

            But none volatile ram, wow,

looks like M$ may have to introduce new standard sleep for mode and a clean boot function.

Did you see the LTT video? Intresting, and will only get faster, and larger.

I already have a similar m2 system, so i’ve now lost interest.
