This is Anthony’s reply to my enquiry

Hi, Alan.

The forum is hosted by InstantASP, in a deal set up by our previous deputy

editor, who is no longer with Micro Mart. However, he has phoned the host

and emailed, but has yet to get a reply.

I don’t actually work directly for Dennis Publishing, so I don’t know what

their view on the matter is. However, one of the forumites has set up an

alternative at http://www.forum.ukcomputerforum.co.uk, so that might be worth

checking out.

Could it be that someone at InstantASP saw that Felix Dennis had died and just pulled the plug, hoping (maybe) to get out of the deal?

According to Google, code 503 means that the servers are working but not the program. i.e. “The lights are on , but nobody’s home”. :scratch:

I am sure Anthony wont mind me posting this.

Hi, Lee.

We’ve contacted someone at InstantASP about the forum, but we’ve yet to hear back from them. I would like to mention the temporary forum in the magazine, but I fear it might upset someone at Dennis Publishing. If it looks like the forum is going to be permanently down, though, then it won’t do any harm to suggest an alternative, so I’ll probably give it a week and see how things pan out.

Yes certainly keep it going. The other side is still a bit slow but bearable in the short time. Thanks for this alternative.
