Firstly, please keep the donations coming. Currently, after quitting the membership set-up and moving to this new setup there are 4 subscribers. I am at the moment and for the foreseeable on nearly zero income p/m. I just can not keep the place going on that.

So, to try and raise funds another way as well as subs is obviously ads.

Secondly, I am adding a store. It will comprise of 3 sections.

China Dropshipped products for those who want something cheaper and are not in a rush.

UK Dropship products providing I can find some good deals which I am.

And lastly, I would like to add my own section when funding allows for Homebrewing and equipment and maybe other related hobbies or do-it-yourself stuff such as bread making and so on.

Anyhow, I thought I would update everyone.

To make the shop idea more accessible/appropriate to needs, maybe start a topic about what people are doing their due diligence/research on and whether there is a China alternative.

To kick it off with an example, I started looking on AliBaba at some LED batten lights and the whole sense of it just becomes a bit too much, I just find it frustrating. For someone that was on it more of the time it would be much easier. I hate window shopping at the best of times and just end up adding them to my Ebay Watchlist and paying the premium for someone to act as middle-man, or in this case finding they’re out of stock!! I started looking at them for my conservatory, but they’re just as useful for the garage and the loft.

Regarding the ads, I personally hate them, but if they keep the lights on, then so be it. Let us know when they’re due so that we can whitelist forumite on our adblockers. :good:

Hope your plans work out Lee. But I am more than a bit annoyed about you having to do this. Just FOUR subscribers? There are a lot more than that who visit Forumite. Quite a few who still visit, some of whom have benefited from help given on the site. I am happy to pay my DD, along with the other 3 guys and I don’t mind ads at all, if it helps you run the site economically: you cannot afford to do this for nowt.

Maybe that’s me on my soap box again, but that is how I feel. Come on guys, pitch in if you can.

The shop is not just to run this place though. I also need to start thinking of an alternative income route. It’s coming close to my court day for this house thing and so on plus selling websites and hosting as just gone completely dead.

Hopefully, the store will pick up some passing trade. Plus if and when I move onto a boat I need to be earning online. Hopefully, the website and hosting will pick back up shortly and this will just complement it or vice versa.

Been looking for a less expensive automatic watch for ages, ordered one from the Link. I can’t wear a Quartz watch, something about my body breaks them, they always stop after a couple of days and never go again. So that was a great find. Best of luck with more sales! :good:

I’m a bit late to this convo, but I can remember us (me and Lee) discussing white label drop shipping about ten years ago.

There is now some good Amazon algorithm selling trick out now. That are very interesting. Drop shipping via Amazon (so you get your product delivered direct to Amazon Wearhouses. As long as your products are small (for shipping and storage costs), and you focus on the cheap end of Amazon, lick cork screws type widgets, there is money to be made.

Shame Jason isn’t still about, as I bet he is bang into something similar, given he was building am eBay business.

The product itself doesn’t matter, you just use stats to chose the produt, amend that the buyers skint like about the product and sell. If I had time I’d defo be allover it. The issue is upfront cost and the dreaded gamble.

Your looking at a few grand to get going. It’s super interesting though.
