You need to select a forum from the drop down menu at the bottom of your post.
Laptop T420 i5 8GB SSD 2x Spinners Optimus GFX
HTPC 5350 8GB SSD 2x Spinners Antec 300
Desktop 2700K 16GB Revo x2 GTX570SC Antec900
Server N54L 8GB SSD 6x Spinners HD6450February 23, 2017 at 8:11 am #4326Yes, to make you select which sub forum to put your post in, it’s just below the main text body input box. To solve tje issue that seemed to be having, as the win forum the the first, a few people was posting everything in that, thinking that was the only way to start a thread. There scroll wheels must be broke.
Maybe a change or error msg to ” chose a form below” or similar would make it a bit more clear.
That set up Lee put in last night, is basically the Mod way to post that I’ve been using for whole, I found if much more streamlined than scrolling through the forum index page. Though on deck top is not really an issue to go that way, more a pain on mobile.
February 23, 2017 at 8:26 am #4329When I read the title, I thought you were referring to the fact that the poster’s name is missing from the updated info to the right, – Freshness Column – on the Latest Replies page, after the Forum “update” last night.
February 23, 2017 at 8:29 am #4331Just noticed that. Will it return?

February 23, 2017 at 8:56 am #4335The formating went a bit wonky last night I noticed, I still see the Lat posters name, it’s just no longer aligned right atm. It’s drifted inwards
February 23, 2017 at 9:48 am #4337This is on my desktop.
February 23, 2017 at 9:56 am #4338My laptop shows name of last poster.

Server N54L 8GB SSD 6x Spinners HD6450February 23, 2017 at 9:59 am #4340Its more or less the same now. I have to find a ballance between good on desktop and not cluttered on mobile. It will all make sense when the mobile side is finished. There is also a post topic button in the menu now!

February 23, 2017 at 2:12 pm #4364Tried a couple of times to make a new topic. The drop-down at the top is broken. and still gives the Error. The only one I could get to work was the top left link on the appropriate forum’s index.
February 23, 2017 at 2:17 pm #4365What error are you getting? Maybe a cach issue as its working for me. Tell me more about the error :~)

February 23, 2017 at 2:56 pm #4368Same error as the topic: error-forum-id-is-missing/
For clarity I’m using a PC (Mint Firefox). The Post New Topic links I tried are the ones in the top Banner.
Maybe it is my fault in that I started with the very top ‘Forum Welcome’ page and tried that top banner drop-down. I thought the error was due to my not actually being on a Forum page. (Probably that drop-down should be removed) I then navigated to the Other Forum, and tried that top banner drop down without success. I then went to the postings index for Other and did not use the banner, but instead a link at top left to open new topic.
February 23, 2017 at 3:12 pm #4376What I am seeing.

February 23, 2017 at 6:32 pm #4393My Bad. I assumed that the first dialog (from the Forum Welcome) would contain a space for the Forum. I did not think of going down to the bottom and using a drop-down. Ditto making a new topic within a forum area I assumed (wrongly) that it would pick up the forum area automatically (MM style).
February 23, 2017 at 6:35 pm #4394We’ll get there, I’m just trying to make it as straight foward as possible for everyone, Just like they did with windows vista 🙂
