Hi Guys. I am appealing for Just Giving donations to a great cause. If you can, please sponsor my lovely, caring granddaughter, who has been growing her hair for all her 14 years and now is having a haircut in order to provide wigs for children with cancer.
Our Ellie (taken from behind for obvious reasons)

She remembers granddad’s cancer battle last year. The thought of children going through that, and losing their hair, made her do this. She has always been so proud of her hair and it is something she loves, but can give to help others. To say I am proud of her is a big understatement. Her mum has organised it all. I love them both more than I can say.

Cheers

I'm out.August 31, 2019 at 9:52 pm #36311Today our Ellie had her locks shorn, here are 3 pics of “After” – “Before” being in my first post of course. Thanks again guys. Special thanks to Lee for making this a Sticky.

Guessing Forumites will love this one! Hammering away at the system her big brother built for her.

The hairdresser business is inside Louth Indoor Market. That’s the lady boss doing the business. Whole family goes to the men’s and lady’s shops: men’s is “The Gaff” and lady’s is “Gaffettes”. Lincolnshire humour.

September 1, 2019 at 8:10 pm #36327Thanks guys.
JCD I that point to her mum today and she agrees. ? Dad says it also gives Ellie more homework time after her evening shower. Ellie gave one of those Daft Dad looks and just says her head feels lighter now.

September 2, 2019 at 1:22 am #36377My daughter had her head shaved for cancer research last year. We have a neighbour who was diagnosed about 18 months ago & my daughter thought it would be a way of showing support. About 14″ also went to provide wigs for children with cancer.
So congratulations to Ellie. It’s a brave & wonderful thing that she has done.

I have thought for some time that the great majority of the current generation are very caring. Probably much more so than my generation was, TBH. I experience it every day in town: as I shop, the younger people will hold open doors for me when they see my stick and awkward mobility. (Some older people often brush me out of the way) I once had two young girls pick me up from a fall in an iced-up car park, walk me to Argos and carry my parcel back to the car. Still occasionally see at least one of those girls, now young women. They always speak.
Maybe there is hope for this country?
