Hi lads. TY Lee for getting the site back up.
For my new build I made a most uninformative U-Tube video.
August 11, 2019 at 7:17 pm #35552I see you drink Titanic – a nice brew!
August 11, 2019 at 7:34 pm #35554Yes, a goodly drop for sure. Probably the 2nd best real ale ever. 🙂
August 11, 2019 at 8:08 pm #35556The last gaming machines I built had the SSD under the graphics card, no ill effects.
August 12, 2019 at 8:35 am #35559I gave you the first like 😉
August 12, 2019 at 10:39 am #35562As promiced elsewhere a while ago, below is a look inside my hobby PC AFTER I tidied the cables ?
It had been a few months since I’d had the cover off. Spot the cobwebs on the PSU !
August 12, 2019 at 1:56 pm #35567That looks like a gigabyte Z77-D3H.
Modular PSU next time.
I been looking at AMD’s StoreMI Free app for speeding up yer whole system.
I just noticed that it supports a max SSD size of 256GB and I just put in a 512. Hey ho. More work for me splitting the drive in half then.
August 12, 2019 at 3:25 pm #35569IMHO I can’t see the point in Store MI these days. Now we have large cheap SSDs you can easily put what needs to be on the SSD on there. Speeding up a spinner that is now basically a multimedia store makes no difference.
Can System Backup apps cope with a hybrid drive of this sort?
August 12, 2019 at 4:35 pm #35571Ha. Go Dave. you sound like Morpheious. So, you think thats air you’re breathing. 🙂
BTW I think the Matrix is getting another run in the cinemas this years. 50 years old or something. No, no thats Abbey road, The Beatles. But simliar. 🙂
August 12, 2019 at 10:36 pm #35580Its actually a GA-X58A-UDR3 with an i7 930@4Ghz under that tower cooler. You can also see the 3 sticks of memory for triple channel working and 3 empty slots for another 12Gb should I ever feel the need ?
August 13, 2019 at 3:06 pm #35592Hmm. I have not seen the 3600 Boost above 4.1GHz Maybe I have a dud. Something to look at another day.
August 13, 2019 at 6:04 pm #35597Hmm, winfo and CPU.Z need to catch up.
Even so, I have found that my CPU will only clock @4.2 and above if I force it.
Using Ryzen master.
And that probaley not the end of as well.
