      Where might I find an empty computer box (possibly with padding).

      To post a Lenovo

      I have been to PC World (Currys) and asked if they had an empty computer box. They looked at me as though ?? Customer Service said they only have boxes with computers in, logical I suppose.

        Order a thimble off Amazon. It should come in a box big enough with sufficient padding for anything.

        Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

          Go to a Main Post Office John, one that sells different size boxes and wrapping material. Take a tape measure and the dimensions of the PC and check them out.

            Thanks Bob and for the links I will look into them.

            I did keep such boxes, I kept the Lenovo box for years, one day I had a clean out,

                Thanks Dave I have been looking, it’s so I can offer postage on ebay, I would never get my money back.

                I should have said old/2nd hand boxes.

                The more I think, maybe I should try superstores, a lot of red tape today, years ago you could drive round the back.

                  The SSD I bought a few years ago did come in a box big enough for a medium size computer case  😀  But the case fan I received yesterday was a tad too small for a computer case. Just a tad 😀

                          On a side note, if you ever buy sweet and sour ready meals from Tesco then they come in a proper Tupperware container for free.

                          Scrunch up some newspaper and use some tape and you have an almost indestructible container for sending back things like mobile phones ?

                            Xlent thanks all, great tips.

                            I was on about I did have some but cleaned up, had a brainwave and looked in the garden shed (first time this year). Would you believe it, I only cleaned to the shed and I still have boxes, after all that.

                            I’ll be sure to use the tips though for future.
