If you use one of these routers you should read this El Reg report. Luckily this is not a remotely exploitable bug, but chaining together a Windows/Linux/Mac exploit plus this local router exploit could mean troubles.

I have a tp liknk jobbie. The RV9000 mk3. Bought on a whim wjm my asus died on boxing day. Seems OK. Offeres better performance of the ASUS (which I loved) , with a few a few more features. and was about the same price I paid for it 6 years ago. £120.

I keep it up to date so I don’t worry much about it. Though it uses a bit more power. But I was desperate and that’s what curry’s had on boxing day. The newer Asus was £80 more. On boxing day I couldn’t justify (afford) the extra 80. Apps it’s a FTTC jobbie so I could dispence of the white by box. So power savings probably even itself out.
