I’m after a sim card for my iPad, data only. I don’t want a rilly monthly affair. Just one I can put £10/20 on, and it sits there doing. Noting until the day the Internet craps out, so it falls back to 4g data, so card payments can still be taken.
Anyone know of a decent sim that will do this?i suppose they all do. What has decent rates and doesn’t expire.the not expiring unused credit, is pronaly more important than data rates tbh.
March 28, 2019 at 9:10 pm #321973 PAYG 4G Trio Data SIM Pack with 12GB Data
Preloaded with 12GB of data
Up to 4G speed (3G compatible)
No contract to sign
Data lasts for 12 months (PAYG Top up any time)
Roam FREE in 71 countries (Includes all of Europe)MyMemory £28 inc p&p
It’s what I use in my mobile MyFi hotspot. I don’t top it up, if it runs out before the 12 months is up I just get another. It usually lasts me nearly a year TBH. But IIRC my Three signal wasn’t that good in the pub?
March 28, 2019 at 9:15 pm #32199All sounded good, but 3 isn’t.great at thd pub as you mentioned.
Hmm… Do you know of Anyhing on ee or o2?
March 28, 2019 at 10:10 pm #32202March 29, 2019 at 12:03 pm #32217That’s good Dave though I’d get a lower one. Given I doubt I’d near that amount of data.
Iive orders an free ee sim, which seems adequet. But what I’ll do is find out what, if any, networks work the best at the location. As 3 and ee dint seem great. Suppose I’ll ask the patrons and staff.
March 29, 2019 at 12:14 pm #32218If it helps my ipad (Air 2) works quite happy with a normal (phone) SIM card. I regularly put my work phone sim card in it and it works AOK – so you might not be restricted to a data only SIM (normal phone SIM might work out cheaper).
March 29, 2019 at 2:13 pm #32222That’s very interesting BL. I may try my sim it later to test. ?
March 29, 2019 at 2:58 pm #3222460Gb sounds ample, and normally it would be, but if you are a Steam user its barely enough to open your browser !
The initial download of the new Doom came in at 58Gb so who knows what it is now with all the patches and updates its had ?
March 29, 2019 at 5:19 pm #32225I reckon I’ll have an issue if my staff are playing doom on my till ?
Ive solved the issue. I took out BT biz BB and that comes with 4g fall back sim.
It wouldnt keep my cameras going (I doubt), but would keep till card payments going.
Price was OK almost the same as what I pay at home. For basically the same speed package. They guarantee 71/17 for my line, so should be ample, in both directions.
March 29, 2019 at 8:21 pm #32231” the UK’s first and only broadband that can automatically switch to 4G” Probably won’t be long until that statement gets changed! Another BT first that isn’t.
Still just what you need in one package. The cameras will only take up an eighth of that upload bandwidth and probably enough download for all the regulars to stream a video simultaneously.
