For the past year or two I’ve been a big fan of the HP HD 2300 webcams, and granted, they are cheap, and in decent light, do a decent job.

On Saturday, I picked up a Logitech B910 for not a lot of money (£25), and I have to say, since both are 720P, the Logitech makes minced meat of the HP. Low light is just awesome by comparison, and both just work on Linux.

Now, I need two more, if anyone wants to send me one 😉

EDIT: I’d post comparison stills, but I’m sat here in my dressing gown, and it’s easy for bits to slip. So not gonna do that.

EDIT 2: OK, comparisons without worrying about my junk.

      Logitech B910: https://imagebin.ca/v/4asnzEQUXMGm

Both in exactly the same light using defaults in webcamoid.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

Error on the 2nd ( logitech ) image,  displayed second time of trying – what a difference!!

I was worried for a moment, bearing in mind you’re in your dressing gown, what ‘junk’ was on display!!! luckily the logitech image clarified that point.??

It’s weird that Imagebin errors like that – it was always so reliable.

If you want to see me in my dressing gown that badly, I can recommend a good therapist 😉

If you ignore the bad gateway or error this’nthat and just close and re-open then it works.
