Broke out my N64 (with memory expansion pack) today to see if it still works.
3 hours of Mario Kart later I can confirm it still works, as can my sore hands. Compared to gaming on even a modest phone/tablet it feels odd, the controls are ‘imprecise’ at best and it looks really blocky on my little Samsung 1080p TV.
The thing is none of that matters as the gameplay is still superb and I got used to the controls in about 5 minutes. Have to dig some other games out just in case I get snowed in. ?
One other thing, it just worked. How many things that we have now would just work after not being touched for 5+ years? Not many I’m guessing.
