If anyone has been following Venezuela over the last few months, or days, here is a great talk of the History and current status of the place. It’s quiet long put definalty worth your time.

I don’t usally post stuff like this, but they cover the subject very efficantly and cover all the major points. Which is very different to trh views of the BBC and their friends.

I thought Trump didn’t believe in interfering in other countries.

Ah, they have a lot of oil.

Funny was that they do have a lot in common, lots of sick people who cannot afford treatment due to their leader’s crass ways though the folks ‘down south’ do have a slight lead in the number of dead and dying. They folks down south are also tending to be on the move a bit at the moment. Could another caravan be formed?

Russia have been allies with Venezuela for decades. Americans biggest issue is they see them as a commie statse, as to them anything socialist is communism.

I’m suppressed they haven’t trued a coup here tbh. We may find out one day they have.

This issue in Venezuela is very Vietnam like. Its a bit mad as America was playing the long game with them, and trump just blantanty anouncies it. Not hiding it at all.

Venezuela have issues, but it’s not down to socialism or the Russians. It’s down to mad management, but with good intention, US sanctions and the drop in oil price. Maybe when we was all looking at Russia as the target of opec’s over supply initiative, it was Venezuela they was after all the time. Or maybe that is just a lucky side effect.(for America).

Ive been following Venezuela for about a year or so, the media are telling hourodous claims, but when you see footage of Venezuelans on the ground, they admit it’s bad, but not to the extent the world is broadcasting.

I can see this turning into another Syria.

I’m guessing Venezuela, just like most oil countries, relied on it too much and failed to develop a proper economy.

I remember watching a YT clip of a Trumps speech, he said Russia is not an enemy, he will develop good relations with them, etc. But very shortly after he did a 180 degree turn on it. I guess it’s only so much you can do as a US president and stay alive. I wonder if Trump, having realised this, has intentionally pushed things into “overdrive” to make it easier for the world to see all the evil that goes on behind the scenes.

The US have a very long history of interfering with Latin America. This goes back to the 1823 Monroe doctrine under which the US treated the Caribbean as a US owned lake and will not allow any threats to its interests or traffic through the Panama. see article for history.

Venezuela made a big mistake in challenging the US hegemony with Petro-Venezuela, and I have seen arguments that the failure of Saudi Arabia to exert its normal upward pressure on oil prices was a three pronged attack on the oil&gas-based economies of  Russia, Syria and Venezuela. (Gas prices used to be linked directly to heavy fuel oil/crude prices).

Yep Ed. Spot on. I think they mention the Monroe doctrine in the video above. Thou it may of been a different one of his I watched.

He has some great stuff on the Skripal affair, his handlers, and the way the handler is linked the integraty initiative, and the whole Russian gate BS in America.

He has been saying it all along, I wasn’t so sure, untill all the II leaked docs came out earlier this months, and the docs do tie it all together. For me it turned from a conspiracy theory, to a conspiracy.

Ed has it spot on, as Steve says. A masterful summing up, Ed.

The US has never learned from its often disastrous interference in Latin America. From the days of the Alamo, when they stole half of Mexico, through the Spanish-American War when they took the Philippines from Spain. Add Nicaragua, Colombia, etc, etc. As a nation, they castigated Britain for having the temerity to build the world’s biggest Empire and they never have missed an opportunity to criticise what they see as our colonial  past: they still do it today. They will never admit to creating the same colonial expansion in their own activities throughout the world, by the using military means supplied to puppet governments, or economic pressures.

Also as Steve says, any Socialist government, however centre of Left, is always seen as communist by the USA. That is why no Left wing Labour government has ever managed to hold on to government for long. Ask the ghosts of Keir Hardie, Clement Attlee, Harold Wilson, Michael Foot, Jim Callaghan. Read Tony Benn’s memoirs. The only way Blair could establish a Labour government and hold it in power for so long, was by renaming it “New Labour” and turn it into a political nonsense: a right wing Labour Party. After which he sucked up to America and became the Bush’s BF.

The US and the UK are, as someone once said, “Two nations divided by a common language.” They will never understand what they see as British liberal attitudes towards the rest of the world. In fact, most of the American population could not point to the UK on a map, or to any other countries. It should come as no surprise that Trump was able to appeal to the xenophobes and isolationists within the population of the USA. He is after all, ‘making America great again’. Someone should inform him that only one nation has “Great” in its name, even though we have been made almost ashamed to use it.

Bob, Sorry, I thought Trump spelt it wrong and wanted to make ‘America grate’ again and again and again!

Lets face it, that is one promise we can all agree he is achieving.

UN rapporteur calls US sanctions on Venezuela illigal and say its Killing civilians. Reports the Independant.

He is basically making it offical what anyone with a bit of sense could already see. Shame the BBC (and all other outlets) are not seeing the same. Hmmm..

It is all the more surprising that the US supplies 41% of the income that the Venezuelans get from mismanaging their oil! Though the Americans are increasingly second sourcing their supplies as the capability of the Venezuelan oil industry reduces through the lack of maintenance and staff.

The Beeb does what it is told in today’s climate. That is why I only use a small percentage of Beeb reporting in my understanding of international news. The Independent has a much better unbiased grasp while the Economist gives the CIA view and of course RT the Russian view! China News is better all round as long as you ignore the US/China geopolitics.

[edit] Currently the value of China’s imports are almost half that of the US – I anticipate that China will now increase this share as over the last ten years it has been increasingly active in the Southern Hemisphere. link

Ed your second link blew my mind for a while, until I remembered the history of US involvement supporting Latin-American regimes, in the guise of opposing “Creeping Anti-Communism”. By whatever means judged necessary.

It does demonstrate the power of a misused, controlled media. Today, nothing else is a efficient in changing the minds of its audience.

I found Fermat’s Library fascinating, and have opened a subscription. I can never have too much unbiased information…

Ed if look at the integraty initiative leaked docs their road map is getting media, teacher, and sports personalities on the books.

There is also a list of media people mentioned a few times, and when you then look at their tweet history, they are all sporting the same uncanny stuff, at the same uncanny times.

@bob if you want your head exploading further, read the document below titled ‘Rebuilding Americas Defences’ produced by ‘the project for the new amerian centery’,(a real bad organisation in the usa, published in September 2000 (on year before 9/11)

The whoes who of Bush Jr inner circle, oh and Jed wrote it.

The overview is, they need to destanel the middle east to get a foothold in it, bit to do that they would need a “pearl harbor, type sinario on American soil”. I kid you not

Watch the video, then read the leaked document. But be careful as this is one rabbit hole that once you peak in you just have to follow it.

Your next step is to looo up ‘the project for a new American century’ they are a bad group

On a side note, unrelated, bit also repeated to American police shifts. There also a document stating the minutes of the VP of America, John kerry, tabling that a request that Saudi Arabia said they would  cover the costs of getting rid off Assad, so they can lay their pipes. We’ll America just cut a 200bm deal to arm saudi Arabia. It could be coincidence, but I don’t belive in them.
