OK, so I change phones as often as I change my underwear it seems…

But I purchased the Oneplus 6T a few weeks ago, never opened it, bought the iPhone XR on release day instead but then returned that and finally opened the Oneplus 6T. All this was a few weeks after getting the Pocophone – which I still have but will be going on eBay shortly, as updates haven’t yet fixed the Android Auto issues.

      But I digress.

Having opened the box of the Oneplus, I was pretty impressed from the start. Starting it up and using it, I’m impressed even more. The in built finger print reader isn’t to bad – some issues occasionally, but might be when I’ve sweaty/greasy hands but usually the face unlock works. The Oneplus launcher is decent – I’ve installed Nova, but I’ve not actually used it, as the Oxygen OS one or whatever Oneplus call it is perfeclty fine.

Camera isn’t bad. Only have a few indoor shots at the minute (with only one I can share!) Mind, I’d been happy with the Moto 6 Plus that I sold on to Dave, so as an improvement on that, it wasn’t likely to disappoint.

I think I’ve been converted from the iPhone crowd.

At least for the next 6 months!?

(I still have an iPhone 7 from work mind)

The G6 is absolutely wonderful. Daughter got an Honor 9 Lite dual sim for £129 from Amazon that’s incredible for the price, especially the 1080 x 2280 screen. She’ll be abroad for most of the next University year (China and Germany / Austria) so the dual sim will come in handy.

I’ve got the original honor 9 dual sim on 3  great phone but the main rear dual camera is crap. I don’t know if I have the settings wrong but the picture quality is just absolute shite. Other than that it’s a good phone. My lads g5 phone picture wise just demolishes it in all ways

I’m still impressed with my 5T so you should be chuffed with the 6T.

The in screen fingerprint reader on my Mate 20 Pro works brilliantly but not for me anymore as I have to put gel on my hands 3 times a day so my hands are always a tiny bit greasy. Sounds like the same issue your having.

Shame about the Android Auto issues, I keep forgetting to try my mum’s Pocophone in my car.

Does the Pocophone have a custom launcher? It’s EMUI that causes the problems with the Honor 9 and Android Auto.

It’s EMUI as well. Or at least based on that, as the launcher is here. Even with Nova as the default launcher, it didn’t work.

Not tried the 6T in the car yet, but that’ll come tomorrow as we’re off out.
